Hopeful Streaks

Chapter 2

The previous night, sleep seemed to be on friendly terms with me. Well, the guy with eight packs and biceps that every girl would worship and his waywardness were invading my dreams. Why did i feel sparks, in his touch?

You're on the road to recovery! Don't imagine things. He came like a guardian angel, though he was just a stranger.

I stood still, in front of the stove as i dwelled in these thoughts. It was a shame that i lost my thoughts to a waywardly lad, with whom fate bumped me, some ten hours ago! I was standing there even without a conscious that someone was shoulder to shoulder. My dopey mind flipped back, only when a pair of arms hugged me from my back. I screamed as this sudden entry of someone made a threat and pulled me off the sick cerebration. I screamed and jumped and as a result, the dipper got tossed off.

Blech, that was none other than Deb. I turned around clutched her ears, and gave a gentle turn and she giggled and screamed in pain.

"Deb, You're not my husband to do that!", i gritted my teeth, closing my eyes, smiling widely at her.

"Calm down Bon-bon!", she said tickling my hip.

"Deb! Stop doing that!", i giggled jumping ly, yet she didn't stop tickling me.

"Deb, No! St.. Stop i said!", I giggled and cackled.

"Great dance you do, bon-bon!", she chortled and finally took her hands off me and gave a break to her tickling me activity.

After so many days, my face was reddened due to the aftermath of laughing hard.

"How are you Bon-bon?", she asked widening her eyes.

"As you see!", i one lined shrugging my shoulders. She smiled at me and i widened my arms for a hug. She came forward for a courtesy hug.

Soon after, i made coffees for both of us.

"So, tell me ?", i asked her and winked, poking her arms.

"What ?", after her very long what, i noticed that the redness had started to suffuse on her cheeks.

"Yesterday?!", i asked giving her a dirty look, stirring in the poured coffee essence to the milk.

She remained silent, stood there silently.

"You're telling me now, otherwise i am calling Math!", i said and snatched her phone from her hands. She came out of her pie on the sky and chased me to get back her phone.

"No way, Bon-bon! I am telling you now." She said showing her hands up, symbolized defeat.

"That's my girl!",i pinched her cheeks and handed over, her coffee mug and i bent down to place my own mug on the desk. I, then moved swiftly to the window side to open up the fenestra.

While, Deb roamed over the house flipping through the pages of AaVi* of that month. "Not bad, Bon-bon! You maintain the house well!" She said and smirked at me. I twisted my lips, cryptically and neared her after shutting off the curtains, sideward ly.

"Deb, you're diverting the subject!", i said and sat facing her, beside her on the couch folding in my left leg with coffee in my hands.

"Like a boomerang, wherever i go i must come back to you!", she said and blazoned her wide smile. Each and every, inch of that smile flashed and revealed that she was happy.

"Enough of sugar coats!", i leered at her .

"Come on, Deb! Can't wait to listen to the story of how Business tycoon Math, oh ermm.. The great Alex Mathews proposed to the augustus, pompous Deborah Jeremiah!", i literally shouted permeating my hands, widely. She chuckled by seeing what i did, and i laughed too.

"Okay! Enough of all these!!", she said gathering up her and taking the coffee mug to her hands.

"Yes! Tell me, tell me, tell me!", i said shaking my head with my puppy eyes.

"I was actually doled that Math would never confess his love!", she started her to story! I listened to her keenly.

"I badly wanted to go meet Father Samuels! I finished my work with the bistro and i started towards the church to meet father and Christ! I don't really know, how did Math knew that i would visit Church yesterday. But i was shocked when i saw him there yesterday!", she said and meanwhile, tears whelmed in her eyes. Remembrance, of those thoughts brought back the happy tears in her.

"I spoke with the pastor and sat there to pray! In sometime, pastor went in somewhere! To all appearances, i guessed it! He went to inform Math that i was all alone, in church! And that's how Math came to church!", she said and smiled.

"So, pastor Samuels has been in the scene too! Hmm!!", i winked.

"Listen!", she shrieked.

"Yes yes!"

"I sat there and decided to close my eyes to pray for sometime. Intermittently, i felt someone's shoulder stroking mine. When i opened my eyes, Math was sitting beside me closing his eyes, tight with his hands clutching the other firmly!"she said and the way she explained that her Math was beside her was really ecstatic!

"I sat there still, without moving!",she said and her eyes balls were propelling here and there when she expressed the way her love was sitting beside her!

"I would've really jumped out of my seat, if i were there! You, the girl with full of pizzazz and perseverance!!", i said and smiled taking a sip from my coffee.

She let out a heavenly grin and continued,"He then opened his eyes, calmly and caught me looking at him. Being, caught I didn't know what to do at that moment." Both Deb and Math had been in love! Oh, what's that called ? Puppy love! Yeah. They never talked, until there was a compulsion to talk, they never confessed their love even once in long twenty four years!

" 'I would like to talk to you! Like to spare some time ?' He asked me", said Deb.

"Hmm hmmm!", i grimaced at her showing her all the happiness that i felt for her.

"I agreed, and we talked. He asked me about how was my work going and how my dad's health was and everything! We sat there talking for long thirty minutes. We laughed together, for the first time. Though, that was the first time we both talked about our personal whereabouts, i didn't feel any kind of awkwardness or breadth with him. Finally, he did something that made butterflies flutter inside me !" She said and face palmed, in amusement.

"Did he confess his love ?", i asked dilating my coffee brown eye balls.

"No!", she flushed.

"You both kissed?", i winked at her .

"Bon-bon! No way!", she flushed crimson! Again!!

"Come on! Tell me!!", my curiousness was on high.

"I laughed wholeheartedly at something, that he turned and he looked at me earnestly and said 'Why on the earth is your name Deborah, when it actually should be Angel!!' My whoop stopped and my breath hitched. His glance was so intense, Bon-bon! Never once, i had seen him so close.", she explained it so passionately blooming her fingers and waving her hands.

My lips twitched into a smile, by listening to the ecstatic elucidation of Deb!

"I wheezed heavily for which he said,'Slow down, Deborah Jeremiah!' I was still in that occupancy that he was next to me. 'Will i get a chance to make you happy, make you laugh, make you mine?' He asked with arched brows, leaving me in the ridge of a mountain. The next moment, he went on his knees in front of me,'Deborah, Will you please marry me?' ",she finished her pretty story telling!

"Inside the church?", i freaked out.

"Yes!", she turned scarlet again!

"In Front of Jesus Christ ?", i asked again!

Oh my lordy lord!!

"Yes , yes and yes!", she said shaking her head being amazed, in savoring her memories.

"Oh my goodness!", my jaws dropped open on hearing what she said.

"It was a marriage proposal!", i said leaving my mouth open.

My freaking god! This girl so happy !!

"Yes! And then i agreed with a nod and then the happiness that was evident on his face was worth all my struggles, through out my life till now! He held my hand and promised me that he would never leave me out and he would never let me down!", she paused being interrupted by her tears.

"What else do Deborah needs?", she said with a bulky, baggy smile. I went forward to her, to give her a hug and she hugged me back.

"Happy happy yesterday eh?", i asked her with tear drops rolling down my eyes too.

"YES!! Wondrously happy!!", she said taking in her last sip.

"Stay happy!", i said and soothed her head.

"So, what was that? That made you call me DEBORAH yesterday?", she asked stressing out the Deborah.

"I had to attend an interview, yesterday! You know what?", i asked folding in both of my legs, into the couch, turning to her.

"I guess, it didn't go well!", she guessed it right!

"Yeah, but listen!"i said and she listened.

"While, i was coming back from the interview, at night...." She broke me off, interrupting.

"Why the heck did you have your interview at night?", she asked.

"That was a long wait at the hospital, for this broken interview!", i sighed ! "Ok,ok!", she nodded her head.

"I stopped by the petty shop to buy milk and two bilges dirty talked! I turned back to give a stern stare, and started to walk fast. I walked, walked and walked, yet it didn't seem like i have reached home."

"Suddenly, i felt those perverts following me!"

"Woah! An action scene!"

"One of them got a phone call and moved away while the other clutched my hand!",i said so seriously!

"Bon-bon!", she went serious and her gaze went delusional.

"You know what! Something inside me made me to stamp his legs and i kicked him in his private area!", i said proudly and giggled!

"You're a leading lady!"she stressed the word and her face lit up.

"The other one who was on the phone, started to chase me and i ran! I ran, holding my life! I ran into the beach so that i could seek some help from there! But then my knees went weak and my legs ebbed, i fell to the sand to make it more worser, the sky started to pour!", i paused as my breath went abnormal.

"I sat there, praying for someone to come and save me at that moment!", i said and deb was on a cliffhanger!

"Tell me, you! Who was that?", she asked.

"A guy! A tall guy, with idolatrous biceps and long fingers and gleaming eyes and much more!", my eyes radiated a sparkle.

"Huh? Hero eh!", she asked out!

"He looked like my savior, Deb! His eyes were dyed in the wool and hardheaded in saving me and protecting me. He had an eight packed body! His thick brows and dusty, black eyes below those brows reminded me of a super-romantic as well as an action hero!", i fed the fire! The guy, made me to galvanize!

"How did he look like?", she asked with same amount of energy and excitement!

"You know? , that....!! Ermm.. Broad shoulders, short stubble, err.. Captivating well, penetrating gaze, tanned complexion, the spark that he gave me when when i touched him, was an unsurpassable one! Never once, i had felt that with any other guy!" Call me, weird! That was the first time i ever felt the flying sparks, or whatever they call it as!

"What the ??! Bon-bon! Oh my god!! Is it all real?", she shut her mouth in amazement!

"Let me complete!", i said and she gestured me to continue!

"I got up and thanked him..." I was saying and she interrupted," First of all, tell me about how he looked like!"

"I don't really know how to say that?", i was seriously thinking of how to explain that guy's appearance to Deb!

"Like, Robert Pattinson?", she asked.

"Pch! Duh! More hotter!", i said coolly!

"Ryan Gosling?", she raised her brows!

"More good looking!"i said twisting my lips!

"Like Zac Efron?", she almost freaked out this time.

"Are you joking?", i said as a small simper, ran through my lips.

"David Beckham? Please, don't tell no!" She closed her eyes!

"Open your eyes, babe! It is a NO!", i smiled shyly.

She sighed and I giggled!

Why can't  i compare this guy to any of the damn hot heroes? Why is he appearing so much heroic and lion hearted to me?

"BERNARDO FREAKING VELASCO?!", she shouted literally, seesawing her hands and shrugging her shoulders.

"NOT AT ALL!". I nodded my head hastily."

"Bon-bon! You're INSANE!! Totally!!", she giggled and put her head into hands.

"Deb, really he appeared to be incomparable! Ermm.. Very attractive! Ultimately, you know?", i said struggling to find words to describe his beauty! OH MY GOD!! He was so perfect!!

"Mitha Krishnan, is admiring someone! Hmmm!! Definitely, he must be a perfectionist! "She said thinking ly!

"Deb, but when i opened my mouth to thank him, do you know what happened? ",i asked and frowned.

"What the heck, happened?",she bit her lips in anxiety. "All his greek god frame, that had been captivating me until the moment buried themselves to death! He was such a grumpy tom you know?!"

"Why so? Grumpy eh?", she rolled her eyes. I then explained.

"Offo! So, is that a petulant person?", she asked raising her eye brows.

"Yes, babe!", i said and sighed.

"Oh, no! Saves a girl but crabby towards a girl! Undulation!"she twisted her lips.

"Haha, who cares?", i said and made reaction like I don't really care.

"Bon-bon, cares!", she winked.

What? Wait!! This can't happen! This girl found out that the guy is haunting me!

"In your dreams ah!", i said and sat up to proceed with my works for that day.

"I know about you! You never talk about someone until they're close to your heart!", she said and winked.

"Mademoiselle, He had saved my life! Know by heart! How could i forget him?", this time my brows got knotted at her.

She left out a cryptic smile and raised one of the eye brows and talked,"He saved you! And you're clearly obsessed! Agree?"

I can't lie to this girl, hmpf!

"I can't shout it out but kind of!", i flushed.

"But the way he reacted to my thank you, is still whirling inside my head, you know?"

"Hmm?", she said.

"Otherwise, he is a Divine being!", i said to her.

She followed me to the kitchen. We decided to cook her favorite Roti and mutter paneer! I took out the paneer and started to slice it whilst she was thinking deeply about something.

"What's engaging you, Deb?", i asked.

"Uhmm?"

"What's keeping you engaged? What's going on in your head?", i asked, fanning out my eye balls.

"Bon-bon! It is a shame that I couldn't help you out, as a friend! Sorry!", she frowned.

"Who said that Deb? Do you know how much do you help me by spending time with me ?", i said and looked at her. "For now, loneliness is eating me up! Being a super good friend, you're here at my home to spend your weekend! What else?"

"I mean!", she hesitated.

"What do you mean?", i asked staring and slicing the paneer pieces. She came forward to hold my hand,"I am sorry that I couldn't help you financially!", "Oh, Come on Deb! This isn't an issue! I will find a job sooner!" I said and gasped.

She still didn't seemed to be convinced!

"Deb, trust me! I am really very happy that you're here today! And you know well that I don't expect financial help! So, no worries! Stay happy, Math's love!"i said and patted her cheeks.

She forced a smile on her face!

"But bon-bon! It's not safe to leave you alone here! Better search for a job soon and shift your place!", she said and i agreed to her!

While, i made the roti she was sitting in the living room, watching TV and talking to Math on phone and talking to me.

Once, i finished cooking and we had our food in silence. And then both of us planned to watch a movie, for the rest of that day. While, i was immersed into the movie she shook me out to say something important!

"Bon-bon! See this!!", she urged me to see the news paper that she was flipping through!

The pointed out page, revealed an ad telling the need of a live in doctor, to take care of a patient!

Precisely, a lady doctor!

I saw that and started to read the column wholly!

"So, the multi multi millionaire, business plutocrat, bigwig, Ajay, is in need of a live-in doctor! A lady live-in doctor! Hmmm", i sighed.

"Why don't you try this Bon-bon?", she raised her eye brows and her eyes sparkled being caught by that plug!

"Both feet on the ground, not possible at all!", i said giving the least importance to what she said.

"Bon-bon! No! Give it a sincere try!! You're in need of money, safety and a good shelter! And when one can provide you everything , why do you overthink?", she said shrugging her shoulders.

Brainwash!

"But Deb, why shouldn't i wait for a better job?"

"Pennilessness is killing you! Mind that!!", she stiffened.

"Yeah, but.."

"No buts! Do you know who Ajay is?"

"Oh, Who is that?", i asked being amused by the way she said that name.

"THE AJAY!! The CEO of Éclat group of companies!", she said widening her eye balls!

"Have you seen him?", i asked narrowing my eyes!

"Nah! But the name and fame! I wonder that you didn't know him! I haven't seen his pictures!!", she said staring at the advertisement.

"Do you think that this will work out?", i asked and leered at her.

"Why can't this be done?"

"Like, Going as a live-in doctor to an aristocrat! Not that good, right? I don't want to get into issues!", i let an exhale out.

"But why don't you give it a try? Without being icky! A sincere, serious try!", she smirked.

"Okay, let's first see the guy and find what google says about him!", i said and opened the google web page on my laptop.

My goodness, that my internet bill was paid and it was working!

I opened, the web browser and pressed the keys, out of anxiety!

"Éclat group of companies,!", i spelled as my fingers swiftly touched the key board.

"Come on, you lazy nitwit! Fast!!",Deb, patted my shoulders and shouted.

Once, when google displayed that so-called, self styled Ajay, my eye balls dilated into their higher magnifications!

The guy! That heroic, idolatrous man who saved my life!! That grumpy tom!

My mouth turned into an O, on seeing the pictures that google displayed, in the name of Ajay. Well, the reaction on seeing the pictures was of two types. One, The nameless joy that i found out the name and history, of a guy who often resembled an efficacious griffin happened to be my savior! Second, the commonly named embarrassment that started to threaten me, working at his home. Not for good! At all!!

"Deborah!", i shouted, shutting my mouth tightly, making myself straight.

The very thought of previous day's happenings brought back all those intensely felt feelings. Savoring those moments ran a chill that shivered my spine. I shook my head and came out of the amusement that, i enjoyed during his embrace.

"What's up now?", Deb came to bury her face into the laptop screen. Her face reaction, totally changed when she saw the pictures!

"Bon-bon!, This guy!!", she exclaimed.

"Deb, This guy!!", i exclaimed too, rolling my eyes.

"Math and this guy, often hangout together! But I didn't knew that he is that Ajay! I have seen them together even at the Cathedral!"she said rolling her eyes.

"Deb, he is the one who saved me yesterday!", i sighed!

"What!!?", she raised her brows!

"Yeah, he is the one!! I told you right!"May be, I exaggerated! But to me, he is one real hero!

"Whatever! The guy seems to be majestic and his pulchritudinous swag is way too transparent!", she said and poked my arms, while i was lost into the beauty of the lad, once again!

"Bon-bon! Compose yourself! No foul plays! You're meeting him for your job!", she said.

"Did i hear it right?", i asked with an arched brows!

"Put up ears to what i say now! You're going to meet this guy, in the given address and ask for the job!", she stressed out each and every word.

"Deb!", i begged.

Well, a part of me was literally dancing to the euphony! Again, this happy part of me was happier, that the i would be able to see the guy and talk to him over and over!

Oh,Mitha! Did you forget how he reacted to your thank you!?, the devil version of me ignited this!

Yeah, that might be because of something else!, the angel talked back!

He is a testy lad!, the monster showed up.

But, he seems to be sweet, when he saved me!,the naive angel, came up!

Gosh, he saved you! But he showed null importance to your coffee invite! He is a self-willed person!!, bringing the hassle to an end, was too much, at that time.

Few of my nerves, were shouting his name in joy while the other few, did a slow burn. This came to an end, only when Deb, shook my shoulders and trailed me out of the thoughts.

"Deb!",i pleaded and made my eyes as delusional as possible. I was not actually, clear at that time. A part of me wanted to meet him again, and the other part didn't wanted to, while the one more broken piece was highly embarrassed to meet him again, due to his waywardness and my comment on that day, about his girlfriend.

I put my face into my hands, due to the brimming dilemma.

"Bon-bon! I guess, you've to give this a try! See, no compulsion. Just, go meet and then decide!"she said and looked at me and came forward to hold my arms.

"Okay, Deb!", i frowned!

The way that i reacted inwardly, on seeing the mysterious guy in the photo column of business fat cat, Ajay made me to question myself. The strange behavior of my hormones, gave a bad time furthermore! Okay, may be too much admiration just because he saved your life! Take back yourself and give it an attempt! And now that sweet, naive Mitha was back.

The confusion, held me strongly that i was befuddled to the extreme. Time flew and it became that evening! I and Deb, watched a movie together on a pledge that we would not discuss and waste the together time, by talking about some big shots!

After a movie, i made tea for both of us and after that Deb said that she would leave!

"I will take a hike now!", she said taking up her tote!

"No dinner time, with me ?", i narrowed my eyes and leered.

"Uhmm! Not today!", she said and flushed.

"Seems, someone has a date! Eh!! ", i winked.

"First date!", she whispered and flushed scarlet.

"Oh my god! You're blushing!", i fluttered my eyes.

"Bon-bon!", she giggled.

"So! You're giving it a sincere try! Leave me a call, on Monday after meeting him! No talkbacks!"she said strictly!

"Okay, Mom!", i said and twisted my lips sarcastically!

"We really had a very good time today! After so many days!!", i flashed a big, wide smile!

"Bye !", she blazoned to leave out her signature smile.

I waved my hands at her, as she walked away from my home. The day can't get any more better!

Firstly, Deb's happiness on her love; and then my embarrassing experience; and then something that doubled the previous embarrassment!

I decided to flip through the pages of, life is what you make it! And i drifted off to sleep, as such!
