Chapter 2: The Guardian of Time
Aditya took a deep breath and stepped through the glowing doorway.
A powerful gust of wind surrounded him, and everything dissolved into a sea of brilliant blue light. He felt weightless, as if time itself had lifted him from the world he knew.
When the light finally faded, Aditya found himself standing in a place unlike anything he had ever imagined.
The sky shimmered with floating stars, even though it was daytime. Rivers of glowing water flowed through the air instead of on the ground. Massive crystal towers stretched above the clouds, and giant clocks floated silently across the horizon.
"Where am I?" Aditya whispered.
A calm voice echoed behind him.
"You are in the Chronos Realm—the place that exists between every second of time."
Aditya turned around.
Standing before him was an elderly man with long silver hair and bright blue eyes. He wore a dark robe covered with glowing symbols that moved like tiny constellations. In his hand was a crystal staff that pulsed with golden light.
"Who are you?" Aditya asked.
The old man smiled.
"I am The Guardian of Time. I have waited hundreds of years for the one who would carry the Watch."
Aditya looked at the silver pocket watch in his hand.
"You mean... me?"
"Yes, Aditya Patel."
The Guardian raised his staff, and the air filled with glowing images.
Aditya saw ancient kingdoms rise and fall in moments. Great cities appeared, vanished, and returned again. Oceans became deserts, and deserts became forests.
"Time is alive," the Guardian said. "Every choice creates a new path. But someone is trying to destroy those paths."
"Who?" Aditya asked.
The Guardian's expression became serious.
"A powerful being known only as The Shadow Keeper."
With one wave of his hand, a dark figure appeared inside the glowing vision. It wore a black cloak that hid its face, and its eyes burned like red fire.
"The Shadow Keeper feeds on broken timelines," the Guardian explained. "If he succeeds, history itself will disappear."
Aditya tightened his grip on the pocket watch.
"What do I have to do?"
The Guardian pointed toward a floating stone bridge leading to a shining temple.
"Your journey begins there. But remember this..."
He paused.
"Every time you change the past, the future changes with it."
Suddenly, the pocket watch began to glow brighter than ever before.
A loud c***k echoed across the sky.
The Shadow Keeper had found them.
