Chapter Forty-Five
Zack woke to silence and sunshine. He blinked at the ceiling as his sleep-addled brain tried to figure out where he was, why the silence seemed so strange, and why every muscle in his body was sore.
The reason for the pain surfaced first. Zack groaned as he remembered the events of the previous evening. Ashley and Kayla. Racing down the stairs to escape the gala. Ashley’s tearstained face as her Lovemeter dropped to zero and she told him to leave her alone.

Crap.
The shot of adrenaline cleared Zack’s head, and he realized why the silence felt strange. He hadn’t heard from DaEvo yet. The app should have chimed by now to remind him to go work out or to tell him that he was locked in his condo until he took a shower and put on acceptable clothing. H
