There was a certain man sitting in his own secluded corner, unknown to the both of them who suddenly recognized Kelly. He took his cell phone from his cell phone and started to dial a number.
The receiver picked up just after 4 rings.
" what is it” the person on the other end of the phone sounded impatient.
" it looks like the little Dove just walked into the lion’s Den,” he cryptically said knowing full well the other person on the line would know exactly what he was talking about. He hung up straight away not bothering with farewells and continued his drink, all the while, keeping an eye on the Little dove and her Hooligan friend.
Meanwhile, at the coner booth, Mercy was giving her dearest friend some advice.
" Kelly you are not used to this place, i think for now, why don’t you observe first okay? But if you don’t like being here, just tell me and we can go alright?”
“Okay, don’t mind me Mercy. Go and i will watch from here”.
Mercy ventured out into the crowed and made her way to the bar to purchase them some drinks. The bar was full of people and there was a huge line. Unfortunately, Mercy had to wait for a while to get their drinks.
While she waited, she glanced at Kelly direction and was relieved that she followed her advice and just observed. She turned her attention back to the bar Menu and thought about which drink Kelly would like and if she should get some nibbles too, so she didn’t see a waiter approach Kelly and give her a drink.
Kelly not knowing how things worked thought that Mercy must have ask him to give her the drink, so she took it without question. She sipped at it and she threw a disgusted look at the drink bottle. ‘Really? This is what people like to drink? She said inwardly.
On the other coner of the bar, Alexander sat down next to the caller and his eyes immediately picked her out from the crowed. He saw that his little dove was by her self, that a waiter had given her a drink and she took a sip of that drink. It was obvious to him that this was her first time to a bar by the way her eyes were looking around the building. And jt was also blatantly obvious that that was the first time she tasted alcohol by the disgusted look on her face after she took a sip from it.
In his mind, she was like a lost Angel who had mistakenly walked into the Realms of devils. She looked so innocent and vulnerable that he was sure it wouldn’t be long before she attracts some sleazy, worthless of man who would look at her as easy prey.
In the next seconds, his prediction came true. A man in an expensive suit walked up to her table and started speaking to her. His beady eyes looked her up and down and he could practically see the drool falling from the coner of the man’s lips.
The moment he saw the man extend his hand towards Kelly, Alex aura freezes with blazed with hellfire.
The man who approached Kelly looked confident and authoritative. His suit, his expensive looking watch and shinny looking well polished shoes all screamed that he was definitely a rich man compared to the men Kelly saw inside this bar so far. Most of the men in the second level were also wearing suit, but there was something about this man that stood from the crowed. Could he be the Almighty Micheal feared by people?
Maybe, it was the perfect cut of his jacket or the expensive cuff links by his wrist or his perfect hairstyle which looked like a whole tub of gel had been used to hold it in place. Or maybe it was the confident, arrogant air about him which seemed to be something that rich, entitled men naturally gave out.
Her observation was proven true when the man gave her a business card and she saw the words ‘CEO’ written on it. Taken her acceptance of his business card as a positive sign, he sat down on the seat next to her and started a generic but polite conversation with her. She studied him carefully, his eyes were not cold as ice, unlike Alexander who had refused telling her his full name. When the man smiled, it looked like it reached his eyes; he didn’t smile wickedly at her unlike Alexander. His words were polite and well mannered; He didn’t threaten her unlike the emotionless man. Why was she even thinking of him right now? Why was she comparing this man to him? That was so unfair to this man in front of her.
She smiled back at the CEO in front of her, and made a polite conversation. This was what she came here for after all right? To be less ignorant about things and to get this experience that she wanted? He looked harmless enough, even nice then why was she feeling different from how she felt when she was Alex the emotionless man.
He spoke politely but for some reason, Kelly felt uncomfortable. The hair at the back of her neck stood up as uf she sensed danger. She shivered, but not from the cold and when he tried to touch her hand, she couldn’t help but want to pull her hand away from him. There was something in the way he looked at her, like he had some hidden agenda that she felt wasn’t quite right, even though he tried to act pleasant and interested in her… unlike Alexander.
Kelly quietly sighed as that man’s name popped in her head again, she took another sip of her bitter drink and winced from the terrible taste. She thought that she was probably thinking things because of how things ended up between her and Alex.
It was something that Kelly couldn’t deny. In all men, why did she chose him?
