After lectures, they entered the car as the car drove.The two girls loved entering an empty car so that they would not disturb anyone with their noise and silly behavior.
INSIDE THE CAR,
"i will be coming to your house house before 7 pm so we can go to a shop to buy some dress for the birthday party". said Mercy.
" hmm I don’t have money to buy any New cloth besides i did not plan for this party"
"don’t worry i will buy the cloth for you, my mother has already given me some money for the buying of cloths because i actually told her that i will be going with you and will like us to dress in the same outfit"
"oh really thank you love, she hugged and pegged her. I will tell my grand parents about the party so that they would allow me leave the house"
" don’t worry your grand mother will allow you just tell her i am going with you" Mercy smiled.
The car kept on moving while the two girls continued discussing. Now, the car has reached a particular Bus-top where the two girls will have to separate to their different location.The junction is well known by lots of people and the road is always a busy one. When the car stopped, Mercy came down from the car and entered her street after she must have given Kelly a goodbye wave. while the drove out to drop Kelly in the Next bus-top.
" please drop me here, she said. The driver stopped the car as she paid him and went straight to her house" She does not have to enter any street because her house was along the road and it has no street.
INSIDE THE HOUSE
"let me go and prepare some food Kelly will be on her way now and she must be hungry and tired"
"come and join me to watch this news, i think it is interesting. It is about country O…." before he could finish his statement , the sound of an opening door distracted them.
"oh my little Angel"
"hi grand ma, hi grand pa" She walked inside the house and gave the two couples a peg in the left and right side of their cheek.
" how was your day my child" He caresses her face.
"fine grand pa, it was awesome and stressful as she walks to her room"
"Wait!!" she stopped. i was about going to prepare lunch before you came in, let me escort you to your room before i go to the kitchen.
"grand ma i am no longer a child, i am not the Kelly you normally pick up from school, grand ma i am a big girl and i can go to my room my self. Do i have to say this over and over again"
"just let her be she is not a kid anymore"
"you are still my baby so now give me your bag and let me escort you to your room" Kelly had no other choice but to give in.
"okaay" She said as she handed the bag to her grand ma and they both left the gentleman alone in the sitting room.
Kelly and her grand ma had this parent and children relationship, since Kelly’s parents died, her grandmother have never for one day make her miss her mother.
She walked the little girl to her room as promised and handed the bag back to Kelly.
"here is your bag, go in and freshen up while i make lunch"
"okay grand ma she replied as the woman left her instantly to make lunch"
IN THE SITTING ROOM,
Grandpa was about increasing the volume of the TV when his wife came in.
"hey old woman co…."
"hey old man" she interrupted.
"did you just call me an old man?"
"did you just call me an old woman?"
(he smiled) .
" please i have lunch to prepare", she entered the kitchen.
IN KELLY’S ROOM
Kelly has already pulled her cloths and now she is inside the bathroom taking her bath but before she went inside the bathroom, she had already brought out a blue jean and a white Polo. Few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom, cleaned her body, rubbed her cream, dressed up, arranged her hair and went to meet her grandparents.
IN THE SITTING ROOM
" where is grand ma?"
"she is still inside the kitchen" he replied.
"OK" she responded and went straight to the kitchen to assist her grandma but when she went inside the kitchen, her grandma had almost finish the cooking because what she actually made was just white rice that is why she didn’t stay long. She entered the kitchen and helped her dish out the food and placed them on the dinning.
" food is ready" she said as they all sat on the dinning and ate together.
"Mercy will be coming to pick me up this afternoon, i will be attending a birthday party with her and i will also sleep at her place tonight so we can go to school together the following day. Please i need to experience the things i have never experienced before i leave this earth"
"are you sure you want to go? " he asked.
"my dear you have to be careful, do not take any alcohol OK? Your health is important to us "
"have you told Mercy about your health condition?"
"no i have not told her yet. "
"you need to tell her so that she can prepare her self for what will be coming"
"i am just so scared of telling her, i cant watch her cry but i will try", she said and continued eating. Few minutes later, they finished eating, Kelly tried clearing the dishes but her grand mother had refused her to do so because she was actually scared that her little lamp’s illness might trigger at anytime.
"grand ma please stop doing this, i can wash the dishes. You don’t have to do everything for me" her grand mother kept on packing the dishes to the kitchen to wash like she never saw or heard anyone talk to her.
