* When we walked out of the tent, I still couldn’t believe what I had just heard. I looked up at Damian, expecting to see some form of reaction from him that would at least let me know what he was thinking. But his face was unreadable, a blank expression on it as he looked straight ahead. He moved away from me immediately, as though the mere presence of me beside him was somehow irritating and too much to bear. I watched him walk away, and a part of me wondered if what they had said was truly going to happen. How could they possibly hope to do that to him?
