* Time itself seemed to slow down as I dashed towards the door at the top of my breath, completely ignoring the alarm which had swept into my bones. I kicked the doors open, but as I stepped into the porch I was suddenly thrown backwards with a violent and powerful force that it made my eyes water. I dropped to my knees, and I cried out in agony as what sounded like a gunshot exploded right above me. “Hurry up,” someone said in a sharp and tired voice. “We’ve got to get out of here before they come after us.” Most of what they were saying fell on deaf ears as I was too blinded by my pain. I wished there was a way for the pain to subside even for a simple second so that I could lookup and see who it was.
