Adhidev’s Success

After his breakup Adhidev  didn’t see his girlfriend or tried to contact her ever. He became depressed and started drinking. He kept a distance with girls. His behaviour was affecting his health and studies. Aman and Ajay were worried for him. They knew if anything will happen to Adhidev, Abhay (Adhi’s father) will finish them in a cruel way. Even though Aman and Ajay’s father are powerful politicians and friends to Abhay, Abhay is also a politician who loves to be in power and well known for torturing and destroying his foes. It was the finals of their course and exams where near. Abhay came to see Adhidev and seeing his condition Abhay tried to cheer his son and comfort him. Abhay hated his father and his presence only added fuel to his present condition.

Abhay called his mother Rudradevi and told her to call Adhidev. She called her grandson and told him to say his what’s bothering him. He poured out his grief to his Dadi. “Adhi life is like this. It will not give you everything that you wish. If so, then we will never remember God. Adhi forget the past and move on. Why are you wasting your time and happiness for such silly affairs. I know there is a person waiting for you who would take care of you like your mother taking care of your father despite his loads of faults. You’re a virgin gem that needs the expertise hand to mould you to an expensive and beautiful diamond. My dear concentrate on your studies and establish yourself. I will find that lapidary for my Adhi.” 

“Dadi you know what you’re right. Now my full focus will be on studies and my career.  I will establish myself with hard work. Don’t bother to find or fix me a girl. From now on there is no entry for girls in my life.” Rudra knows Adhi is hurt beyond repair. But time will heal all wounds, that’s her belief.

After completing the course Adhidev joined David’s father, Jack firm. His skills and dedication started to show in the company’s markets. Jack was impressed by the profit earned during a short period due to Adhi’s hardwork. After two years at the age of 25 Adhidev started his own business with David and Jordan as partners. He was 6 ft tall, handsome, well built guy where girls will fight with each other to be with him. He would causally flirt with girls. One day when he was at a restaurant he saw a dusky girl who was slim and had a great well maintained body. She was with her friends. He was feeling a strange sensation when he saw her. He noticed that she didn’t drink any cocktails. She only ate healthy snacks and ordered mock tail. After sometime she left with her friends. His mind was filled with her face and body. He noticed her innocent face which didn’t match with her tomboy physique. Suddenly he remembered about his childhood crush, but she was chubby and shy, which is the opposite of the one standing in front of him and it has been 8 years since he last met her.

Adhi’s business was a huge success and  three years later he opened an office at Worli, Mumbai. He appointed Dheeraj as CEO of Mumbai. After few months he shifted to Mumbai so that he can meet his mother and Dadi who was missing him a lot. He stayed in his penthouse in Malabar Hills. He would visit his parents in his private jet. He once brought Bhavna to Mumbai and showed her into his office. He also wanted to take Rudra, but health didn’t allow her to travel. He showed her photos of his office. He visited Kerala for a business deal with a Kochi based company. Aman and Ajay with a few bodyguards accompanied him. There he stayed at Le Meridian. The business deal was in the evening. Aman and Ajay went sight seeing, but Adhidev wasn’t in the mood because his ex was a Malayalee and he builds a hatred for this place. The meeting went well and there was an after party which went till midnight. After some time Adhi went to the lobby and was waiting for Aman and Ajay. He tried to contact them, but didn’t get any reply. It was then he saw her. She was wearing saree and had a memento in her hand. He felt his body going rigid and had the same feelings he felt when he saw her 4 years ago.

Suddenly his phone rang and saw it was Ajay. He took the called “Ajay do you know what is the time. And where the hell are you guys. Come fast you know we have a flight to catch. We didn’t come here in our plane. So better you come right now.” and he cut the call and searched for her, but she had gone by that time. Half an hour later Aman and Ajay arrived. They were drunken. He took them to their room. He took a shower and went to sleep. He woke up early morning called Aman and Ajay who had a severe headache due to hangover. He gave tablets and told them to get ready to leave for Mumbai. 

Everybody got ready and left the room. They were in a hurry when Adhidev collided with someone and lost balance. He thought it must be room service guys and yelled at the girl who hit him. When he saw the stunned face of the girl he knew he made a mistake. She was who he saw yesterday night. Before he could say anything Ajay dragged him away. On the way he saw she was going to her room. They reached the airport at the nick of time.  When Adhi reached Mumbai he went to his home. He took a shower. When he came down the maid had prepared him food. He had his lunch and went to his room. When he laid down he was feeling uneasy and restless. When he closed his eyes the girl he met yesterday would come in front of him. Her happy and excited face was roaming in front of eyes. These thoughts made him hard and wild thoughts of making her his own was taking away his sleep. He didn’t know when he slept to be woken up by his phone ring.  It was Dheeraj.

“Dev bhai are you back in Mumbai. Where are you.” 

“Dheer, I am back and was taking a nap why did you call, is there any emergency at office.”

“David called me and asked about the deal. He called, but you didn’t attend his calls. Just call him brief him about the deal.”

“The deal was a success and I will call David.” He ended the call and checked the call history to see there was 15 missed calls of David and 2 missed calls of his mom. His phone was in silent mode on the way to the airport. He didn’t check his phone when he arrived home. First, he called David, and gave a summary of the deal. Then he called his mom.

“Adhi why didn’t you attend my calls. How are you. Is everything ok there. Dadi wants to talk to you that’s why I called.”

Just then Adhi remembered that it has been a week since he last spoke to Rudra. “Ma, I am fine and everything is fine here. Where is Dadi, is she upset that I didn’t call her?.”

“Adhi, It’s me Dadi. I was little worried about you because I had a bad dream about you. Missing you, dear, when will you come home.”

“Me too Dadi, I will be there soon. You know I couldn’t sleep when I came home, missed sleeping in your lap and your head massage. It is magic how much stressed I am when your fingers run through my head sleep will automatically come to my eyes. Love you Dadi. I am fit and fine. Dheeraj is here I know to take care of myself. Take care dadi.” “Love you too Adhi, take care.”

The maid brought him evening tea and snacks. After having it, he again took a nap to relieve the tiredness. It was only when Dheeraj came back at 8 o’clock and woke him. After dinner Dheeraj gave Adhi a summary of the office work when Adhi wasn’t there.  Later they watched tv and went to sleep.
