780 Words
"Hundred level will be over today!" Nina shouted excitedly. "Really? I envy you, I still have three more papers to take so I'll be done in three days time," Lizzy replied as they walked towards the Cafeteria. "What can I offer you?" The Chef asked Nina and Lizzy who sat down waiting for the menu list to be brought. "Em em, toast bread will be just fine," Nina replied. "What about you ma'am?" The chef said, making a pointing gesture to Lizzy "I'll have Pizza," Lizzy replied. The roomies finished eating and Nina offered to pay the bill, beckoning on the Chef, she said; "excuse please, how much is our bill?" " Ma'am, your bills are already settled, you don't need to worry about that," said the Chef. "Settled! By who?" The two roomies yelled in unison expressing their full surprise. By that gentle man over there, said the chef, pointing at a young man dressed in a black hoodies, black goggles, bending over and fiddling with his phone. ''Why will he do that?" " I mean, we never asked for his help, we came here prepared," Nina ranted. Maybe you should go over there and ask him that, the Chef said in an annoyance and walked away. "Girlfriend, don't be an ingrate, why shout at the chef instead of going over to appreciate the dude who paid our bills?" Lizzy said annoyingly, totally surprised at her roommate's awkward behavior. "Who's an ingrate? Definitely not me, I don't just like guys trying to prove that they can buy ladies." "If he knew he wanted to pay our bills, he should have at least informed us, so that we can even order more," Nina concluded sarcastically and the two ladies burst out with laughter. "Oh! I see, you're pained that you didn't order more" "I get you now, I was actually thinking that you were angry that he paid our bills." "Who does that? I mean, who gets angry for one paying her bills? For all I care, he can even pay my tuition fee, at least I'll keep my own cash, Nina, said in a more humorous tone." "Girlfriend, let's even go and appreciate the dude," Lizzy said . So, the roomies walked down to where the guy who paid their bill sat and greeted him. Raising his head and taking off his goggles, the roomies immediately recognizes him and expressed their shock. "You again? Why are you stalking me?" "Haven't I told you to leave me alone?" Nina ranted. "Wow, such a rude way to appreciate your Prince charming who just sorted you out," the Prince replied her in a rather pompous manner. "You see, I hate your guts, stay away from me, I can pay you back the money you spent for our lunch if you want," Nina said in the most arrogant manner. "You are even more pretty when you're angry my lady." " If you really want to pay me for my kind gesture, room 202 is where to find me, I don't accept cash, just feminine company," the Prince replied and took his leave. "Nina, that was very rude of you." "The least you could have done is, show a little bit of appreciation, I don't think the Prince has done anything wrong this time around, he was just being generous," Lizzy pointed out. "Generous my ass, let him go and give alms to the beggars, I hate that guy," Nina responded. "Please let's leave here already," she concluded. The roomies went back to their hostel. Nina couldn't sleep well that night. She kept on pondering over the incident at the Cafeteria. What Also got her more surprised was the fact that the Prince came without his usual entourage. She had told Lizzy three nights ago that one of the things she hated about the Prince is the fact that he goes about with body guards. Then, today, he came alone to the cafeteria. Is Lizzy now working undercover for him? "Or is it just a coincidence?" Nina wonders. "Well, it could be a coincidence but who cares?" She concluded. She also pondered if she should tell Alex about her encounter with the Prince again, though Lizzy had already told her that it's not every issues she will have to tell Alex. According to Lizzy, men are more jealous than ladies. Therefore, Nina concluded, that she will deal with the matter all by herself. Lizzy had further advised that she should give the Prince an audience, at least to really spell out his intentions. Nina concluded, she will do just that. She will tell Lizzy to accompany her to see the Prince the next day.
