Chapter Nine ( Graduation from High school)

Having spent two weeks in Abuja, Mr and Mrs Pedro returned home to resume their work. Their shops have been under locks for weeks now; which is not too good for business owners. So, they wasted no time resuming business after their return.

School has equally reopened. Nina has resumed school. Alex has been admitted into Graceland Community college as well. He would have repeated a class, because he missed a term but his performance at the entrance exam was exceptional. So, the school management had no choice but to admit him into the same class as Nina's.

Nina and Alex walks to school and back together each day. They so much enjoyed each other's company that one could tell at a glance that there was more to their closeness. Although some other students thought that they were close due to the fact that they live in the same compound.

One thing worthy of note is that; the love birds kept their love life secret. They never let it out to any third party; not even their own parents. They managed it so well through out their High school days. Moreover, they were brilliant, so their love life never affected their academic performance negatively.

With five years well spent in Graceland Community college, Nina and Alex graduated from High school in flying colors at the age of seventeen.

Both Nina and Alex parents soon began making arrangements to send their Children to the University. Both families agreed that it will be good for their Children to attend the same University. To them, they have grown so fond of each other, and Alex is now like a big brother to Nina. At least, attending the same University will make them to always look out for each other.

The Children were given an opportunity to select any University of their choice and they chose "Netford University".

Netford University is located in the Eastern part of the country, four states away from where the Pedro's and the Jess' resides. The children chose this University because they feared being asked to be commuting from home to school had they chosen another university close to their residence.

Besides, they wanted to leave home, to explore and have a kind of privacy. Also, they wanted a place where they can nurture their love life.

Two weeks after writing the entrance of Netford University, the results were published. Nina and Alex's names were among the list of those who scaled through.

Nina was offered admission to study Pharmacy, while Alex gained admissions into Law department.

Arrangements were made for them to leave for Netford University within two weeks.

Arriving at the campus, Nina was giving an accommodation in the school hostel but Alex was not. There wasn't enough space in the male hostel. So, Alex had to rent an apartment off campus.

Nina was even trilled about the idea of Alex living off campus. At least, she can be visiting him at will. There are so many strict rules guiding visitation of male and female hostels by the opposite s*x but such rules do not apply to students who live off campus.
