The moon hung low over St. Ailbe’s, casting silver light across the academy’s sprawling grounds. Even from the outside, the school radiated energy—wolf energy, danger, and something that felt almost alive. My wolf was restless, claws flexing against my palms as I walked beside Dastien. The night was calm now, too calm, and my instincts screamed that it wouldn’t stay that way for long. “You ready for this?” Dastien asked, his golden eyes reflecting the moonlight, sharp and intense. His hand brushed mine as we moved through the shadows, and my wolf surged, heat rolling through me. I wanted to back away, but every fiber of me leaned into him, craving the power and protection he radiated. “As ready as I’ll ever be,” I muttered, voice low, wolf growling softly beneath my ribs.
