I stumbled through the forest, blood dripping from my split knuckles, ribs screaming with every breath.
That Alpha had nearly killed me. Would have killed me if his sister hadn't intervened.
I leaned against a tree, trying to catch my breath, trying to process everything that had just happened.
'I need to tell you something.'
My wolf's voice in my head made me straighten. He rarely spoke to me directly—we'd never had that kind of relationship.
"What?"
'The girl. Sera. She's our mate.'
I went completely still. "What did you just say?"
'She's our destined mate. Has been all along. I've known since the moment we met her six years ago.'
"Then why didn't you tell me?" Rage and confusion warred in my chest. "Why didn't I feel the bond?"
