Chapter 35: Screw

1049 Words
Andra Erlina Milburn's Point of View Professor Li has been mad at me the whole time at her class. Except from being late before, it seems like she has been mad after what happened for no particular reason. Regardless, I didn't have the courage to talk back. Chesca and I are currently inside the cafeteria, waiting for our food to be served when a lady called us, saying the ice cream qe borh ordered has been finalized. My favorite flavor was caramel or chocolate. It's in a cup, not too much but it's sweet that it relishes in your mouth. Actually, it has been the eberytime food I frequently ordered whenever I don't have something in my mind. You know, ice cream is pretty relaxing plus, the fact that I like sweets makes it better even more. On the other hand, instead of Chesca standing up, I was the one who stood and walk towards the counter, got our order together with a cheese cake being served. I'm drooling. I haven't had lunch these days nor even have the appetite to face foods when toms of textbooks and even quizzes are currently reigning in my mind. "That's a lot, huh," Chesca said. I sighed, "Well, I need to. There's a chance I can't face to eat dinner again later." "Mhmm!" she hummed after tasting the ice cream we bought. "This is good, tho, the chocolate and caramel syrups weren't enough." "Really? I told the vendor to put more. Though, I'm already content with mine." There's a lot of syrup at the rim of the cup, though. It nearly wanted to come out because of the syrup. Maybe because Chesca's taste was too high that she couldn't taste mild flavors any more. Both of us wanted sweets so I can't blame her for it. However, foods who's rich in fats and sweets are too dangerous. Especially when you're already old. There's a chance you might get diagnosed with some disease or sickness like diabetes that people who have a high sugar level have. "Our professors has been rough, weren't they?" I shrugged off my shoulder. "Mhmm, yeah. We're still in ojr second year in college yet it already started." It's true. I'm already nineteen, yes. Already in college as well. The year level we're into wasn't an easy breathing not to mention all the things we should do especially when it comes to our professors. Honestly, I've been a consistent honor student since I was a kid. That is also the reason why I possess scholarships until now. Our university offers it. Luckily, I'm one of them. Every month, scholars often gets a money from the school as part of the program we are in until the foundation who's supporting me and my fellow colleague chose on letting us go. It's not that they like it. It's just, the company who has been shouldering us since then already made up their mind. I don't know what is it all about and I thought of screwing college but I didn't. Luckily, Zacarias got me. He offered me a scholarship and believe me or not, it's the first time I experienced it. Even if you'll say that I was bought… he was still paying me and even initiated for a scholarship under his name and company. "By the way, Andra. Have you already visited your brother from the hospital?" she asked. I shook my head as a response. "Apparently, I can't take my attention at these schoolworks I've been facing. Maybe this weekend, I guess," Chesca snorted. "So you'd be busy this weekend, then?" she squirmed, a bit disappointed. "Hmm, yes…" "Well, honestly, I'd like to invite you to a club with some.of my cousins. If you want, you can join us," Chesca came from a rich family. I didn't even know why the two of us clicked with each other not to mention that I was poor and she wasn't. Mind you, her family has been reigning at the business industry for years. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth while I wasn't. Chesca had so many friends yet he barely saw each other. Maybe because she wanted to get along with me instead of them? Some girls would just make friends with you if you have something they want. That's the trait I noticed with everybody. For example, you're in friends with the daughter of a huge conglomerate and unfortunately, they lost all their money accidentally. You're an example of an elite one until you'll just woke up being treated as the wind as no one doesn't want to be friends with you. I can say, Chesca was far from them. She never treated me like how her acquaintances treats other students who has a low profile than me. Well, I'm very thankful about it, actually. "I'd love to, but… I'm not sure," Clubs aren't my thing. Though, people who's now my age are going back and forth in a club, making out with people and they treat it as their stress reliever. I have never been there, I haven't been interested at all but many people has been telling me to try and get a shoot even if I can't imagine myself going in. Maybe the reason why I can't find the enjoyment of other people was because I haven't experienced it myself. Chesca wanted me to come with her but I think I can't provide her that. If I do, I need to think twice and consider possible things I might face including the things I'll be doing under Professor Li. Chesca spoke, "It's just until 12 midnight, Andra. Aren't you really gonna come?" "I'm afraid I might lose points, Chesca. You know how much value studies. It's just… I just had an emergency for a week and forgot to ring our professor a bell." She shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, yeah, whatever! But do let me know if you're going. Because you see, we have been slaughtered with tons of activities and exams we'll be doing. For example, the long quiz Professor Li will conduct tomorrow!" My skin felt the shiver. It went down my spine and all I did was to shrugged off.my shoulders. "Dang, if I know, Professor Li was already screwing me."
