Chapter 37: Surprised Andra

Andra Erlina Milburn's Point of View

I was too surprised when Calvin Tegan popped right in front of me. Since everyone was looking at me like I am their prey, I came out of the library and went on the garden.

Chesca isn't still here. She must be able to get late again. Well, what's new? I mean, she has been doing it like everyday, it became her hobby. Though, she shouldn't do it like this. Chesca was pretty smart, it's just… sometimes, she's lady to do things she should be doing.

I took out some of my textbooks and placed it above the table across me not until I tried stretching my back. My phone rang, I immediately took it out my bag and saw it was Chesca who's calling.

"Andra!" she called hysterically. "I had an emergency, could you please excuse me to all our professors today?"

My eyebrows arched. "Why? Something happened?"

It's the first time Chesca told me this, actually. She's always late, yes, but not that she'd ask me to excuse her amongst all the professors we have because of an emergency she hasn't told me about.

It's not that I don't want it, it's because I got surprised and doesn't know what to talk about. Regardless of the questions in my mind, I spoke.

"Are you okay, Chesca? Do you need my help?"

I heard her took a deep breath. "No, no. It's just… damn, how am I gonna tell it?" she confusedly said. "An examination will be given today in Professor Li's class, right? Just tell it to all our professors especially to her or else, she'd drop me off her subject, Andra."

"Okay, o-okay. But tell me what kind of–"

I didn't have the chance to push through about what I said when Chesca ended the call quickly. I bit my lower lip, there are some subject we need to attend today and Profesor Li is one of them.

Since it's still early, I came to where the faculty office is and saw the offices of our professors. I took a deep breath first when I saw them all in one picture. The professors for today's lectures are all in one frame, laughing.

Chesca didn't told me anything, like a reason I'll be going to say. I scratched the back of my neck, a bit problematic. Not until all of them started to move away, a sign that the group they had with was tearing apart.

It's tough explaining to all the professors we'll be attending. All of them agreed letting Chesca pass as the reason I told them was she was hospitalized but I think, she'd get mad at me for telling it.

Regardless, the only person I haven't told the news about was Professor Li herself.

Slowly, I walk towards her office and saw the door that has her name on it. I took a deep breath first, visualizing the terror professor getting mad at me without concrete reasonable fences.

I told everyone that Chesca was hospitalized after getting sickness yesterday. All of them buy it, and even told that her parents already notified the Dean and I don't think they're gonna ask it, since they knew who Chesca was and what family she belongs to.

I knocked on Professor Li's door three times yet no one was responding. Not until I opened the door, and saw no one inside. An employee crossed out, making me look at her and held her hand.

"Excuse me," I said politely. "May I know where Professor Li came?"

The janitress looked at me. Amongst all the professors I'll be talking to, Professor Li was the most important person I'll be having a conversation with since like what I've said, she's a terror one.

She won't let anyone pass.

"Oh, do you mean Bianca Li? She came out a while ago. As far as I can remember, she's in a hurry and went somewhere else."

I arched my eyebrows up. "H-Huh? What do you mean in a hurry?"

"I think she won't attend any classes today. Based on what I've heard, she has an emergency to go on."

I was surprised. Professor Li didn't gave us a heads up. I messaged one of my block mated and asked her about it and she said she also heard it from Professor Biance Li herself.

I took a deep breath. Sighs. You're saved, Chesca. Since the second subject we'll be dealing already quit their subjects, I came out the school and decided to go at the nearest café, pulled out my laptop and started to chill.

Like what Calvin have said, he often sees me here. It means, I'm always here. The main reason why Chesca and I picked this spot was because it's too relaxing. I can do whatever thing I wanted to do especially when it comes to things I should've do.

"What's your order, ma'am?" someone approached me, the regular waitress who has been getting my everyday order.

I smiled, "Matcha latte, please. Like the usual."

"Sure, ma'am."

It took me over an hour to spend my time doing all the activities Professor Li wanted me to. It's hard, especially when all I wanted to do was to rest. Whenever I came home, Zacarias was there and he used my body every time he wanted, mostly at night.

When the morning comes, I goes to school and makes my body vulnerable by doing all the things our Professors are asking. Since my aim was a high grade, I should abide their orders and not disregard any of it.

Since the next class I will be attending was near, I fixed my things and come out the living room. When I marched back at school, I passed the room where we was earlier and saw my block mates talking.

"Andra, where have you been?" one of them asked.

I got confused. "H-huh? I went outside… why are you going out Professor Li's classroom just now?"

"We had a class. Professor Li was present and she gave us a very, very long quiz. She actually surprised us!" she said, making me look at the teacher behind me who just came out the classroom wearing her ballistic eyes.
