Chapter 63: Backfire

Zacarias Ring Sterlington’s Point of View She wasn’t answering her phone when I was calling her today right after she vanished in front of us. I don’t feel good about this, the expression she had earlier when she saw me with Bianca and how she looks at her suddenly registered on my face. It seems like Andra and I would have a misunderstanding again after this. “What time are you going to leave, Bianca?” I asked when she’s already staying here for four already. My plan was to come along with her since I have no job when it comes at noon time. Since I don’t feel okay with us, I wanted to know where she was and why the hell she had several things of her when she comes out. My eyes wouldn’t betray me, I saw a couple of her things and even clothes with her. She’s leaving but I couldn’t even get a hold of her even if I’m now already calling. I got annoyed. I started overthinking on what the hell I did wrong again for her to react like that or was it Bianca whom she hate? “Well, my plan is to stay here for quite a long time while I do my research. Argh, when I comes home there are no people there for me to talk. Good thing you brought me with you!” She then giggled. “It’s because you needed my help and said that you only want to get the papers. I didn’t know you’d like to stay here and do your thing,” I said without any hindrance that may look out for me to spit those out. The smile on her face vanished. “Don’t you like me here?” “I’m going somewhere else and it’s rude for me to leave you here alone,” I said directly. A small O formed into her mouth. “I’m sorry, am I the only one you’re waiting for you to go elsewhere?” I didn’t nod. “Get up, I’ll try to catch the one I’m trying to have a conversation with.” With that, Bianca immediately stood from her seat like she was guilty or bothered. I got annoyed, not because of her but I feel the annoyance towards her too but I was just being in denial. As soon as she was already done with it, I immediately went to where the door was and opened it and then heard her heels who was coming as well towards where we are. “By the way… can you drop me off my condo?” she asked while we’re now inside the elevator. Since our reflection were seen in front, I looked at her there in the mirror. “Sorry, there’s no available cab for today and it was hardly raining.” I didn’t speak but only nodded my head. It’s already 7 in the evening and I’ve been waiting for her to call or even text me but nothing arrived. I pressed something on my keys making my car make a sound and lighten. When I saw where it was, I just walk towards it and closed the door, not minding Bianca behind me. It may sound rude but I really hate it today. I feel very annoyed and I prefer to be alone instead of being with others in time like this. Bianca came in. I was just silent the whole trip and I noticed that she kept on looking at me like she wanted to say something. “Is Andra Milburn really your student?” I asked whilst my eyes were just on the road. She looked at me. Her facial expression suddenly changed. “Yes. She’s one of my student.” “How is she?” I wanted to know how she is. She didn’t tell things about her school or what happened unless I asked. “She’s good,” she simply answered before looking straight in front. “She’s good, huh. What else? Is she dating someone from her close or often goes out with friends?” Bianca suddenly looked at me. “Why do you seem so interested about her?” “Because she’s my housekeeper. She’s under my care and I pay her,” a lie. Fuck. The only way to escape this was to answer her questions. I don’t want to title her as my housekeeper but she’s a professor. I can sense that Andra doesn’t like her and I don’t want to tell Bianca as well whatevever the thing that is currently between us. As her eyes started to gaze on me, I saw how things started to quickly chance right after I answered her questions. “You’re not answering my question,” I said. “She’s good. Smart. And I’m not sure if she’s dating someone yet rumor were spreading that she and the star athlete in our university were dating,” she asserted which made my eyebrows furrowed. As soon as I got her answer, I immediately fored another question. “Dating, huh. When did that started?” “I don’t know. I just seen that on Facebook.” My jaw clenched. I didn’t know that something were now already having behind my back. I shouldn’t care right? I shouldn’t care if she’s dating someone else other than me when in fact, what my only plan was to hurt her unconditionally because of what her father did to mine? Yet what the hell I am feeling this way, huh? Why the hell I feel annoyed and my feelings couldn’t agree when she said that Andra was dating someone else I didn’t know? I fell in silence. The whole trip were just silent. Like what she said, I dropped her off her condo and immediately drove my car away from that one. It was hardly raining, and thinking Andra is now with that man makes me frustrated given the fact that she had several things with her inside that stupid paper bag. Why? Is she living along with him under a one roof? Does that star athlete pleasures her more than me, huh? f**k, it’s making me frustrated. She’s driving me crazy and I wouldn’t accept this. This doesn’t feel right, I should be the one who’s making her crazy yet it’s backfiring me.
