Andra Erlina Milburn's Point of View
The first thing I did this morning was to cease the awkwardness between Zacarias and I. A week has passed and yet, we haven't talk with each other much. After what happened to me back then, Zacarias barely comes home bearing the reason that he was busy.
Pouting my lower lips, Chesca and I are currently inside her condo, doing the things we wanted including the shitloads Bianca Li gave us, or more likely to me.
"What's with your pouting lips?" she sneered.
I rolled my eyes over and glanced back at my laptop. "Bianca Li annoys me. It seems like she doesn't like me at all, Chesca. Don't you think?"
Chesca sipped on her tea, arching her eyebrows at me. "How'd you say so?"
I took my phone down and gestured my hands in front, pointing my fingers on the things she gave me.
"As you can see, Professor Li has been giving me shitloads since the first time I got late in her class. Plus, I noticed how she treats me coldly and lower down my grades only because of what I did…"
Her eyebrows arched. "You're just overthinking, Andra," she said. "Though, Professor Li gave us ton of works to do but I don't think she has something to do with you."
"I can feel it… she smiles at everyone but not to me. I wonder why?"
Chesca chuckled. "Maybe because Professor Li is a terror one. You know, she barely smiles at everyone."
I chose to push the sudden thought behind my mind, trying to disregard what I felt towards her. Since then, my only focus was the one I've been doing since college was hard and thinking of being a businesswoman someday comforts me.
It helps me do things I wanted, actually. Sometimes, there's a day that I wanted to put all the things on my shoulders to God but whenever I think of my brother, I always think of making a lot of money.
The last time I had a conversation with Zacarias was three days ago. Since it was Friday today, for sure, he'd come home early. Before the clock ticks at seven in the evening, I already told Chesca that I'll go home now.
"Oh? This early? Isn't your apartment just near my condo?" she suddenly asked making me fell in silence.
After a seconds, I nodded. "Yes…"
"Stay for an hour, then. You know, I often gets bored here. Why don't you just live with me?"
Well, as much as I wanted to, I can't. Zacarias wouldn't let me and I won't let Chesca know my current situation right now.
It seems like she would change the way she treats me if she'll know I'm living with a famous businessman and sleeping with him every night, f*****g above his bed as he pays for my necessities and already had his mark.
I took a deep breath after thinking of a possible thing I'm gonna say, a lie I should do.
"I'm not sure, there's a lot of things I currently need to fix in our apartment," I lied, though, a partial truth.
She rolled her eyes at me and nodded. "Fine, just let me know when you're already home. Got it, my friend?"
A small smile crept on my lips. I took my bag out of the table, put my laptop on it as I bid goodbye to my lovely friend.
Her condo was located at my apartment, yes, that's true. But I wasn't going there today, not now. As I came inside the elevator, few employees came with me as well.
I was just frowning, waiting for the elevator to open as I come out shortly after a quick rolling around. I walked all alone outside, waiting for a cab to come until I reached the store of my favorite pastries.
Whilst waiting outside just right beside the building where Chesca's condo located, a familiar car stopped right in front of me, showing off the window and seeing a man wearing a three-pieced suit inside.
To my surprise, Zacarias looking so dashing with his suit opened the door automatically, making me flinch and at the same time, nervous.
"Come in," I heard him said.
I was stunned for a moment. But later on, instead of getting myself stuck outside, the rain started to pour for another round causing me to come inside his car without further hesitation.
Zacarias started the engine of his car, stepping the accelerator causing me to keep myself quiet until Zacarias opened a topic.
"This location is thirty minutes away from the University, what are you doing here?" I heard Zacarias inquired.
I hoisted my gazes and coughed a little. "I… my friend… I visited a f-friend," I said nervously.
After of a week getting an awkward situation with him, I barely said the things I wanted to speak. It's like… the awkwardness we are in the first place come again, forbidding me to speak again casually with him.
"A friend, huh," he suddenly said. "Why are you stuttering?"
I confusedly looked at him. "Is stuttering now bad?"
He sneered, "Yes. A sign that you're lying," he said. "Are you?"
"Of course not!" I hissed, defending myself. "My best friend lives here… I came here after school,"
"Best friend, huh. A boy?"
"A girl!"
He was asking me too question far from the conversation we had before.
My eyes drifted at the steering wheel, noticed how the veins in his hands protrudes as he moved only his right hand, motioning the wheel to take turn or not whilst his left hand was on his chin, while his elbow was on the window.
His car wasn't ordinary but thinking a two people whose opposite with each other doing the deed here… pops in my mind. Slowly, my hands turned into a fist as I bit my lower lips out of nowhere and closed my eyes.
Damn, Andra. Why the hell are you thinking something like that again? Haven't you recalled what happened to you back then, huh?
"Let's have dinner together, how about that?" he inquired.
