Chapter 5: The Beginning Romance.

Sunshine's POV:

The whole time we were riding to Donaldson’s camp I sat there quietly fighting not to watch how his ass and hips moved with every movement of the horse or how gracefully he could mount and dismount his horse with such ease as if he were just naturally born to be on horseback. Then when he introduced me to his mother, and I couldn’t help but feel a softness towards this kindly elderly lady as she undid the cloth from around my wrist. (Which thanks to the coldness of the water in the stream at the clearing, the swelling had finally gone down some.) Then she gently poked and prodded my wrist to find out just how bad it was broken, to which she said, “Your lucky it’s not a sever brake should heal up just fine with proper looking after.”

Then she rubbed some kind of ointment that smelled of lavender, white sage and something else onto my wrist saying, “ This will help the swelling to go down faster dear”, then she rewrapped it and placed it back into the sling and secured it to my body. She the had me lift my leg up onto a rolled-up blanket so that she could see it better. She unwrapped my ankle and looked it over again poking and prodding it to make sure it was just a sprain then she put the ointment onto my ankle because it to had finally started to swell then she braced it again and wrapped it back up in a cloth saying “ Your ankle isn’t broke but it does have a bad sprain you may continue put some pressure on it but do not push your self to much it will still take a couple days for it to fully heal and I recommend that you stay here with us until that wrist heals up so that we can help you if the need arises.” “ Thank you mam I appreciate you guys helping me out and I will be glad to stay at least until my wrist is healed up.”

I reply to her then I see Donaldson come back into the hut and when our eyes meet up all the heat returns in both of our eyes I would swear that everyone’s eyes had suddenly widened then I closed my eyes for a second and when I opened them everyone was looking away from us except for his mom but even her face was back in the concerned motherly look I had seen when I first met her so maybe it was just my imagination playing tricks on me. Donaldson slowly walked towards me then he said “ come with me your room is ready for you then turned and started walking away so I followed behind him trying to keep up with his longer leg strides while still not pushing my limits suddenly I stumbled a little just enough to let out a little sound of shock and pain and he was just suddenly their hands resting on my shoulders to help steady me. Then he lifts me up into his arms and starts carrying me, I start telling him to put me down, but he just ignores me and continues to walk on.

Donaldson's POV:

When I walked into the healing hut and seen Sunshine smiling down at my mother with such kindness and then have her look at me with so much heat in her glaze (“that I’d swear I could feel it my body reacted on its own and suddenly I forgot where I was and that we were surrounded by my pack all I wanted to do was pull her to me and taste those lushes lips and then take her to bed and claim her as mine finally”) so much so that I started to walk towards her mine and my wolfs mind in sink both of us wanting to claim this woman then I herd someone gasp out and that’s all it took to remind me of where I was almost as affective as a cold soak in water would be and I quickly rained in my wolf and myself enough to tell her to follow me then turn and walk ahead trying to keep some distance between us as we made our way to my hut. I was doing fine until I heard her stumble and gasp out then my instincts kicked in and I was there in plenty of time to catch and steady her I was fixing to start walking again until I saw how much she was hurting so without thinking I swept her up into my arms and started walking ignoring her complaints.

Once we got to my hut I pushed the pelt aside and as I walked towards her room I said “ The washroom is in the back, my mom’s room is down at the end of the hall, here is your room it used to be my little sister’s room, but she moved back home and my room is across the hall from you, in case you have need of me or some help. The outhouse is right behind the hut so it’s easy enough to get to if the need be. I already placed all of your things in the room and dinner will be in a few hours, so get some rest if you need to or you are more than welcome to explore the hut but do not leave this hut except to go to the outhouse or to the stalls next door to see your horse, you have already pushed that ankle enough for one day. I’ll come and get you when it’s time to eat” then I left her alone so that I could go take a quick cold dip in the streambed nearby.

Sunshine's POV:

After Donaldson left me alone I walk to the washroom and poor some water into a basin then I splashed some water on my face and neck to help cool myself down a little bit then I went to what was now my room and got some carrots from my bag then I stepped outside an I started walking slowly towards the stalls once there I took a carrot and gave it to Donaldson’s horse then I gave one to Old Jenny and the last one was for Sadie as I fed it to her I started talking to her, “Hay girl how are you doing huh? You’re such a good girl aren’t you? Yes you are, so what do you think about Mr. high and mighty huh? You like him don’t you? Yea I like him to, but I shouldn’t let myself because it’s not safe for me to stay here longer than I absolutely need to no its not if anyone comes looking for me and I’m certain my parent’s have already sent out an entire squadron of soldiers to find me I’m just a sitting duck here and all these kind people will be in danger. I really don’t want to put these people in danger so I’ll just have to keep these damn blasted feeling for this man in control I can’t afford to be distracted. I have to stick to my plan and get as far from here and my kingdom as possible. I just hope it doesn’t take to long for me to heal up enough to leave.” After I give her one last pat on the nose I turn and head back to the hut once I’m inside I go to my room and decide to lay down since my ankle is now screaming at me. I eventually am able to finally go to sleep for a little bit.

Donaldson's POV:

With my head still filled with thoughts about just how good Sunshine felt in my arms as I carried her my c**k was rock solid by the time I finally reached the creek so I knew that I had to cool off so I could my head straight and only think about how to best help her rather then think about how I could get her alone in my room. So, without hesitation I stripped down and dove headfirst into the water, I stayed in the water until I was certain that I could be around her again and think clearly. Then I got out and slipped into my shorts then I headed over to the healer’s hut in desperate need of my mom’s advice on what I should do about my problem. Once inside the hut I walked up to my mom and said, “Mom I really need your advice please”, “I already know what is on your mind everyone in this hut synced it the moment you guy’s locked gazes across the room we all felt your wolf come to attention and we also could feel what your wolf wanted. Once you stop lying to yourself about what she is to you and your wolf you’ll have your answer my dear child, until then nothing I say will be worthwhile I’m sorry you should consult your wolf he’ll lead you to the answer”. With that remark she turned away and went back to helping the injured and sick pack member and I left more confused and annoyed then ever before because I knew what she was hinting at, but I refused to agree I do not need or want a mate I don’t care what she or my wolf thinks.
