The next morning, Aria woke up early.
After studying for a while and spending some time with her parents, she left for college.
St. Lawrence College looked much more glamorous than usual today. A huge banner was hanging at the main gate:
"Special Guest: Alex Moreno."
The city's biggest business tycoon and don was coming to make a massive donation to the college. For the college, this was a huge achievement, and it wouldn't be wrong to call it a dream come true.
The professors and students were all extremely busy because of it. Alex had never cared about any school or college before, yet out of all the schools and colleges, he had chosen their college to donate such a huge amount of money. For the college, it truly felt like a dream.
As soon as Aria entered the campus, her whole body froze with fear.
Ethan had left early in the morning for practice, so he wasn't with Aria today. His attention was completely focused on the game, so he hadn't paid any attention to what was about to happen at college today.
The moment Aria stepped onto the campus, she noticed the tremendous excitement among the girls. Everyone was busy fixing their appearance.
Aria couldn't help but wonder why they were acting so crazy over that man.
While she was thinking about all this, her friend Sophie ran up to her and immediately started talking nonstop about Alex.
"Oh my God! Aria, look! Alex Moreno is coming! I've never had the chance to see him in person before. I heard he came to the cafeteria the other day because of a girl. Just imagine how lucky that girl must be!"
Hearing Sophie's words, Aria secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
At least Sophie didn't know that Alex had come to the cafeteria because of her and had threatened her.
She didn't want anyone to know any of this because she wanted a normal life.
A beautiful life with her parents and Ethan.
Seeing Aria distracted, Sophie asked,
"Hey, what are you thinking about so much?"
Aria didn't answer.
She felt as if she were standing inside poisonous gas.
Suddenly, three black SUVs stopped nearby.
As soon as the bodyguards opened the doors, Alex Moreno stepped out.
Today, he was wearing an ash-colored three-piece suit. Sunglasses covered his eyes.
The moment he appeared, a wave of excitement swept through the crowd of girls.
But Alex didn't look at anyone.
His head remained held high.
Sophie practically screamed,
"Ufff! He's so handsome! So hot! Oh God, if only I could touch him once!"
Not just Sophie, all the girls seemed to be devouring Alex with their eyes.
Seeing the reaction of all the girls, a look of irritation appeared on Aria's face.
Alex walked confidently in his usual manner.
But behind those sunglasses, his eyes were searching like a madman for one person.
And within a moment, he found Aria.
Aria was trying to hide among the crowd, but Alex's sharp gaze pierced right through it and found her.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
The prey for whom all of this arrangement had been made was standing right in front of him.
The event soon began inside the auditorium.
Music was playing through the speakers, and everyone was enjoying themselves with dancing and celebration.
Alex sat in the VIP chair on the stage, but his eyes remained fixed on Aria the entire time.
Aria felt extremely uncomfortable.
She didn't like being there at all.
She couldn't take it anymore.
"Sophie, I'll be right back. I'm going to the restroom."
After saying that to her friends, Aria quickly left the auditorium.
She walked rapidly down the corridor.
It felt as if someone was following her.
Before reaching the end of the corridor, she noticed that the old wing beside the library was completely empty.
She thought she could avoid the crowd if she went that way.
She really wasn't feeling comfortable around so many people.
Suddenly, a strong hand covered Aria's mouth from behind.
She didn't even get a chance to scream.
In one swift movement, she was dragged into a dark storage room nearby.
The door slammed shut.
Inside the dark room, Aria struggled desperately.
But the person holding her was as strong as iron.
He pinned her against the wall.
Terrified, Aria opened her eyes and saw those familiar, frightening eyes staring at her from very close.
Alex.
Outside, loud music was blasting. The heavy bass made the walls vibrate.
Aria's screams were drowned beneath the noise.
Still, refusing to give up, she gathered all her strength and shouted,
"Let... me... go!"
A crooked smile appeared on Alex's face.
"I didn't catch you to let you go, Little Bird."
He leaned even closer.
One of his hands tightened around Aria's waist while the other grabbed a fistful of her hair and tilted her face upward.
His hot breath brushed against her face.
"Were you trying to run away, Little Bird?"
"But escaping from me isn't that easy."
He reached out and touched Aria's lips with his finger.
Aria tried to turn her head away, but Alex's strength kept her frozen in place.
Alex lowered his face near Aria's neck. He took a long breath there.
"The scent of your body... it's driving me crazy, Aria. What is there about you? I don't know anything. I only know that I want you. I haven't been able to live in peace for a single moment for an entire month."
Alex brushed his lips against Aria's earlobe.
Trembling, Aria said,
"Please... let me go. Don't touch me like this. I love Ethan, and I belong only to him."
The moment Alex heard Ethan's name, his jaw tightened.
He grabbed Aria's chin and glared at her.
"That name again?"
"Remember this, Aria. From today onward, there is no one named Ethan in your life. If you talk to him one more time or go near him again, then tomorrow morning you'll see his dead body. I'm not joking."
Aria broke down crying.
"Why are you so cruel? Why can't you understand that I love him? Why are you forcing yourself into our lives?"
Alex wiped away Aria's tears with his fingers.
"I'm cruel because I want you. And to get what I want, I can turn the entire world into hell. So get this into your head properly: the more distance you keep from Ethan, the safer Ethan's life will be."
"And sorry, sweetheart, for hurting you like this."
After saying that, Alex gently kissed the spot where he had just left a mark.
Then he released Aria and stepped back a little.
In the darkness of the room, his figure looked like a devil.
"Now go. Go back to your friends and smile. Enjoy yourself. I want you to be happy."
"But remember, every single cell of your body belongs to me from now on."
After saying that, Alex turned around and left the room.
