Tiara's POV
I dove into the risk assessment section, poring over the data and financial reports. It was a complex task, but I was determined to deliver high-quality results.
As I worked, I identified several potential risks—market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and operational hazards. I carefully analyzed each one, assessing its likelihood and potential impact.
But as I delved deeper into the data, I began to notice some discrepancies. The financial reports didn’t quite add up, and I suspected there might be underlying issues that needed to be addressed.
I frowned, a sense of unease settling over me. This wasn’t what I had expected. I had thought the risk assessment would be straightforward, but now I was facing a potential problem that could impact the entire project.
I decided to seek Emma’s guidance, hoping she could provide some insight. I walked over to her desk, file in hand.
“Emma, I found something odd in the financial reports,” I said, trying to keep my tone neutral.
Emma looked up from her computer, concern etched on her face. “What is it?”
I explained my findings, pointing out the inconsistencies. Emma listened attentively, her expression growing more serious by the minute.
“This isn’t good,” she said, her voice low. “We need to investigate this further.”
I nodded, feeling determined. “I’ll dig deeper—see if I can find anything else.”
Emma nodded. “Be careful, Tiara. If something shady is going on, we don’t want to tip anyone off.”
“I will. Thanks, Emma.”
Emma leaned back in her chair, a thoughtful expression on her face. “Actually… I think you should take this to Asher.”
My eyes widened. “Asher? But isn’t he...?”
She nodded. “Yes, he’s the CEO. But he’s also the one who needs to know if there’s a serious issue. He won’t appreciate being kept in the dark.”
I hesitated. The last thing I wanted was another encounter with him. But Emma’s expression was firm.
“Trust me, Tiara. This is the right thing to do.”
I took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay. I’ll talk to him.”
As I made my way to Asher’s office, my heart pounded. I knocked softly.
“Enter,” came his deep voice.
I stepped inside. He was focused on his computer, his expression unreadable. I didn’t even realize I was staring until he looked up.
“I know I’m handsome, but can you stop ogling and tell me why you’re here?” he said, amusement in his voice.
Who told him he’s handsome? Ugh. “Sorry, sir. I’m here to talk to you about the Smith account,” I said, trying to sound professional.
“And what am I supposed to do about that?” he replied arrogantly.
What the hell? This was the same project he wanted done perfectly with daily updates, and now he was brushing it off?
“Do you ever think before you talk?” The words slipped out before I could stop them.
“What?” he asked, clearly shocked.
Oh no. I didn’t mean to say that out loud.
