Chapter Fifteen
I sat bolt upright in bed. I opened my eyes, but I couldn’t see anything. I was blind, I had no sense of where I was. I screamed; the sound came from deep inside my stomach. Seconds passed but the nightmare wasn’t ending, I was still lost in the darkness, I jumped up and tried to escape. Jackie jumped up out of bed, flicked the light on and took me in her arms.
“Jesus Ian, are you ok?” She asked. I looked at her, it took me a few seconds to register her face and orientate myself, I was still lost in the moment. She held me in her arms and whispered gently in my ear and I began to relax. I was too distraught to speak so I climbed back into bed and closed my eyes.
