The suffocating silence seemed to freeze the very air inside the classroom. Bo, whose fist had just sliced through empty space, still stared wide-eyed in disbelief. Meanwhile, Shuwan stood firmly balanced, feeling his heartbeat remain steady and calm—there was no longer the frantic panic that usually crippled his mind.
Seeing Bo’s trembling fist hanging in the air, Shuwan slowly formed a faint smile at the corner of his lips. It was not the childish grin of mockery, but the calm smile of someone who had just realized that he was no longer at the bottom of the hierarchy.
But to Bo, that smile was the greatest humiliation of his life.
“Damn you! You bastard, Shuwan!” Bo roared, his face burning red as veins bulged grotesquely from his neck. “I’ll beat you to death!”
Bo pulled back his arm before wildly throwing another punch with his left hand. This time, the attack was far more savage, aimed directly at Shuwan’s temple with the full weight of his massive body behind it.
If this had been the old Shuwan, that punch would have shattered his cheekbone already. But in Shuwan’s eyes, Bo’s movements felt incredibly slow, as if time itself had stretched to give him room to think. The warm energy from the phone inside his pocket flowed once again into every inch of his muscles.
Shuwan did not remain still. With an incredibly agile movement, he slightly lowered his body, allowing the wind from Bo’s fist to pass over his head. But this time, he did not merely dodge. Before Bo could pull back his arm and regain balance, Shuwan’s right hand shot forward like lightning, his fingers spreading wide as he firmly seized Bo’s wrist.
Bo’s eyes widened when he felt Shuwan’s grip—hard as iron. Before the school giant could even process what was happening, Shuwan twisted his body, slipped his shoulder beneath Bo’s armpit, and with a single explosive motion that used Bo’s own weight against him, hurled the large body over his shoulder.
Duag!
The sound of Bo’s back slamming against the concrete floor echoed violently throughout the classroom, followed by a muffled groan escaping from his throat. Nearby desks scraped harshly from the impact.
Every student in the classroom froze in shock, stiff in their seats as though they had just seen a ghost in broad daylight. Not a single sound could be heard. The classroom atmosphere suddenly felt like a graveyard.
At the classroom doorway, Shu Qi, who had just returned, stood rigidly in place. Her mouth hung slightly open from sheer shock. Her cousin, a bear-like brute who had bullied everyone for years, had just been taken down in one clean move by the boy she had always called weak.
“Shu Qi, why are you still standing at the door? The bell rang a while ago. Hurry back to your classroom.”
The authoritative sound of high heels clicking against the corridor floor shattered the silence. Miss Li Na approached while carrying several thick books in her arms. But when she saw Shu Qi standing completely motionless, she frowned.
“M-Miss… t-that…” Shu Qi’s trembling hand slowly lifted, pointing toward the inside of the classroom. Her voice faltered from lingering shock.
Miss Li Na adjusted her square glasses before quickening her pace. The moment she stepped through the doorway and saw the scene before her, her eyes widened completely. The books in her arms nearly slipped to the floor.
On the ground, Bo rolled onto his side while clutching his back and stomach, his face twisted in pain from the brutal collision with the concrete. Meanwhile, standing before him, Shuwan calmly straightened the slightly wrinkled collar of his uniform without the slightest trace of fear on his bruised face.
“Bo!” Miss Li Na screamed sharply, her voice piercing through the frozen panic in the room. She immediately rushed toward him. “Why are all of you just standing there?! Hurry and carry Bo to the medical room! Now!”
