Falling for doom: Fire and ice

Chapter four

Bella's pov

My feet run faster and faster. I zoom past trees. I skid to a stop when I reach a little clearing. It's a meadow with purple and blue lilies.

I spot a huge white wolf and a lady standing in the middle of the meadow. The lady is wearing a beautiful blue and gold dress. She has her back to me and her hair is brown with strands that a blue. She turns to me and I let out a gasp. The woman looks exactly like me. She is me.

She smiles and bows together with the huge wolf " your highness it's time." She says in a beautiful melodious voice. Before I can ask any question am woken up by the annoying alarm. I breath out. What a strange dream. I look at the date on the calendar. A small smile spreads over my lips. Today is my eighteenth birthday.

I jump out of bed quickly. I shower and throw on some jeans and a black top. I pull on my shoes and put my hair in a bun.

I head down stairs and start cooking breakfast. I do it with a little smile which drops when I hear uncle James' heavy and clumsy footsteps on the stairs. I know those type of footsteps. I feel all the joy leave at once.

I continue doing what am doing and I let out a yup of pain when my bun is pulled ruthlessly. "Didn't you see me?" He says and his breath smells horrible. He had been drinking yesterday. When I don't answer he slams my head against the kitchen island. Hot pain goes through my head and my vision go blurry. I bite my tongue. I will never let them have the satisfaction of seeing my pain.

"You ungrateful dirty thing, I regret ever accepting you. Should have let you die in the cold." He spits in my face and gives me a hard slap in the face. My head hits the island and I feel blood trickle down my face.

Uncle James must be in a really bad mood. I am used to this. But today he doesn't stop when I bleed. He continues hitting , punching and kicking. I cough out some blood. "Today I will end you once and for all ." He sneers in my face and grabs a huge knife. He stabs my leg and I can't hold it in anymore I let out a scream.

He punches me in the face and I fall to the other side. I closes my eyes and I see the lady from my dream. "Stand up princess. Don't give up so soon. " she says and a blue light starts coming from her body. I feel my strength come back and I slowly stand up. When I turn to look at uncle James who was standing in front of me. He staggers away from me with wide eyes.

"You little witch I always knew you were out to kill us." He yells and runs upstairs. I look at the area where I was stabbed but I don't find any wound. I just healed without water. Who is that woman that looks exactly like me? Am I finally going mad?

I push it all to the back of my mind and finish up quickly. I head back to my room and wash off the blood on my body and change my clothes. I don't even have time to look in the mirror. I grab my bag and literally run to the lake. I sit in the huge stone just a few meters away from the water and stare at the water.

I don't want to think about what happened this morning. God knows what I will find. I sigh and walk to the water edge. I look in the water and I nearly fall in. I step back. My heart is beating in my ears. What did I just see? I decide to look again and I gasp at my reflection.

My hair has blue highlights in it and I have a weird tattoo on my neck. I take out a strand of blue hair from my bun and look at it. When did I do this? I try to remember but I can't then I remember the girl in my dreams. I look back in the water and it's like am staring at her.

So that girl is me and am her now. I feel a headache forming. I grab my bag and head off to school. Before I reach the school I let my hair down to hide the tattoo. The hair I can explain but not the tattoo. As I am heading towards my locker am pulled by someone to a corner.

When I turn I find it's Jasper and I frown at him. He looks pretty serious. "You can't just pull me like that." I tell him clearly not happy. He looks at my hair and then my neck. "When did this happen?" He asks. I squint my eyes at him. What's his problem. I pull my hand out of hold. "I don't know what you are talking about." And I walk away from him. I reach my locker and take out my books. I feel someone standing behind me and judging by the heat coming from him I know exactly who he is. I turn to face him and my knees go weak at how close he is.

I blush and back up a little. He looks at my face then my hair. His eyes narrow slightly but in a second it is all gone. "Hi little one." He whispers as he gets closer to me. I can feel the eyes of those in the hallway bore through me. My blush gets deeper. "Uhmm people are watching." I say in a low whisper. Atom puts his elbows on both sides of my head on the Locker caging me between his hot body and the cold metal locker.

"So what little one?" He asks pressing himself to me. I don't know what will kill me. The stares of almost The whole school or the fact that Atom is all over me. "I don't like attention ." I say quietly. Atom tilts his head and there is amusement in his molten eyes. I look away from him but I feel his firm but gentle fingers on my chin.

He makes me look at him and says, "you are mine now, get used the attention. I will see you in class." He brushes his lips on my cheek and leaves. I turn to my locker and open it so I can hide my crazy blush. Am his. Does that mean he likes me?

I internally groan. I sound like a love sick teenager which I probably am.

I get to class and make sure I sit in the corner next to some nerdy guy. I won't survive this day if I sit between the twins. A few minutes later they enter and Jasper pouts at me when he notices he can't sit next to me. I just roll my eyes when he sits behind me. Finn sits next to some girl who is blushing like crazy.

I look at the door when Atom enters the class. Everyone goes silent. He walks towards my sit looking like some bad ass leader of a gang. He has this aura of authority about him.

"Out." He says to the boy sitting next to me and the poor thing almost falls out of the sit.

Atom sits and pulls my chair closer to his. His hand starts playing with my hair and people a staring trying to look like they are not.

I feel Jasper tap Atom and I freeze. "I don't think I like you touching her like that." Jasper says and feel like I can just sink. What does he think he is doing. Everyone stops what they are doing and are fully focused on us.

Atom lets go of my hair and I feel the temperature dramatically rise. "I don't think anything I do will my girl is your business king. I'd advise you to mind your own business." Atom says stretching the word my to make an emphasis. "And don't ever touch me or Bella again. I will cut of your fingers , roast them then feed them to you." Atom threatens coldly without even looking at Jasper.

Jasper was about to say something but the teacher enters the class and the lesson begins. After the class ends, Atom takes my hand and walks me to my next class. He plants a little kiss on my cheek and walks away. After all my classes Atom would walk me to my next but I didn't see him at lunch. After school I head to the little ice cream shop I work at.

It's a secret. This is where I get all my lunch money and savings for college. Shelly the owner of Coco's is like a best friend to me even though she is older than me.

I am wiping the counter when the little bell on the door rings as Atom walks in the little pink shop. He looks out of place and he makes it look small.

"Welcome to Coco's what can I get you. I say with a genuine smile and my stomach is doing flips. Atom smiles at me and reaches out to touch my cheek.

" I'd like a chocolate sundae and blue berries on top." He says looking in my eyes and stroking my cheek. I quickly scoop it up and put it before him. "Get a spoon we are eating this together." He says to me but I shake my head no. He gives me a look that says my patience is wearing out. I sigh and grab a spoon .

He pats the stool besides him and I walk around the counter and sit . We eat the ice cream and right in the middle Atom stops eating and just watches me as I eat.

After am done he pays and leaves me a ridiculous tip. Before I can say anything he is out of the shop and Shelly comes out from her hiding place. I blush deep, I know what she will say.

"Well someone decided to get a boyfriend and didn't tell me." She teases and I get to wiping the already clean tables so I can dodge this conversation.

But Shelly is a persistent woman. I sigh "he is not my boyfriend." I think. He called me his girl in class. Does that mean he's my boyfriend? I shake my head and sigh.

Shelly nods her head "sure." She says in a sing song voice.

I roll my eyes and when my shift ends I close up the shop and head home.

The Masons are going out for dinner so I don't have to cook. I always do my homework at school to avoid getting blood on it.

I lay on my bed and think about my day. It's not a really bad birthday. I know I almost died but uncle James has always promised me death and I believed him.

Atleast Atom made my day good. I smile at the thought of him calling me his.

Maybe I can hope a little.
