Chapter six

Bella's pov

I run as fast as I can, s**t! I forgot about home. Now am certainly in trouble, might as well write my will immediately.

I reach the door and stand there for a moment. I have this feeling like someone is watching me, I look back and I find an empty street.

My hand goes to my lips. I just had my first kiss with Atom and it feels amazing. I smile at that. Atom kissed me not once but twice. That means he likes me right?

I sigh dreamily as I remember my day with Atom . I can die a happy woman now. I take in a huge breath I know the Masons are waiting for me. It's now or never I guess. I master up all my courage and I find the Masons in the dining eating their supper.

I mentally wince. Okay maybe it will hurt a bit. "Where have you been all day?" Uncle James is the first to break the silence. I have learnt to never answer any question. So I keep quiet like a good punch bag.

"You little ungrateful brat! Who do you think you are!" His wife, Octave spits out the words. I lower my head and stare at my feet. Can they get it over with.

"James told me that you are doing magic voodoo stuff. You are a witch!." She yells out. She gets out of her chair and walks over to where am standing and gives me a dirty slap. Her nails leaving scratches on my cheek.

"And what is this, you are doing your hair. Where did you get the money you little slut?" She spits out and slaps me again. I feel blood coming out from the scratches but I don't say a word or make a sound.

Uncle James goes over to the little cabinet where he stores his torture toy. I inwardly groan. This will hurt more than I imagined. He pulls out his favorite. The horse whip.

"I think you have broken a whole lot of rules and it's time for punishment." Uncle James says and walks to my back. I stare at Clark who is still at the table. He gives me a smirk and I feel like I can strangle him.

Since am distracted I don't see the first strike coming. It catches me off guard and I fall to my knees but I don't make I sound. The next strike comes and I bite my inner cheek as I feel my top tear.

The strikes keep coming until my back is soaked in blood. The white tiles are are coated in my crimson liquid. My vision becomes blurry until everything goes black.

I open my eyes and blink a couple of times to figure out my bearings. I realize that am in the dining laying in my own pool of blood. How ironic. I look at the wall cloak and it's 2am . My back feels like its torn to shreds. The pain is unbearable. I stand up and slowly get the cleaning agents.

I always have to clean up my own blood after a punishment. It's part of the rules. If I don't the results are worse. I had learnt from experience.

Every time I move it's like my back is on fire. I clean up and make sure there is no trace of blood on the shiny white tiles. I slowly walk to my bedroom and when I look at my alarm clock it's 4am. I take off my ruined shirt, the back is all torn and clotted in thick clots of blood.

I turn and look at my back in the mirror. It's completely butchered up. I can see some bones sticking out painfully. I turn around and look at myself. My face is all puffy and swollen with five nail marks on my cheek.

I hop into the shower and I hiss in pain as the water touches the wounds. After a few seconds I feel the bones popping into position and the wounds closing.

I wash off all the blood in my hair and as I rinse myself my mind wonders off to Atom. A small smile spreads on my face. I actually miss him. Will he kiss me again today? I blush at that thought.

I get out of the shower and rummage through my clothes. I find the only dress I own. I bought it for college but I want to look good for Atom today.

Pull it on . It's a white floral dress with yellow flowers. I brush my wet hair and leave it to dry. I apply some lipgloss and put on my sandals.

I go to the kitchen and cook breakfast for the Masons. After I set the table am out of the house. I sit by the lake on my rock. I smile at yesterday's events. I actually had fun and laughed . I have not laughed in years now.

Now it's all different. In just a week my life has changed completely. As am sitting enjoying my memories I hear a twig snap and I turn to the bush. I am met with golden eyes of a huge black wolf.

We stare at each other for a few seconds and the huge animal runs off. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I grab my bag and sling it over my shoulder. I quickly walk to school before I meet any other animal that can rip me to shreds in a matter of seconds.

Before I could reach the school a sleek sports car that belongs to Atom stops infront of me . He get out of his car and my heart skips a beat. He walks to me in big strides and pulls me to him.

I melt in his warm embrace. His huge body swallows up mine and I take in his warmth.

"Little one I really missed you. Are you okay?" I feel my stomach do a flip. I look up at him when he releases me from the warm embrace. I smile brightly at him. "I missed you too." I tell him and a boyish grin appears on his handsome face.

"Now look who is getting all confident now." He teases and my cheeks heat up. He laughs and leads me to the passenger seat of his car.

He opens the door for me and I get in. He leans down and gives me a gentle kiss on the lips. When he breaks it he looks in my eyes and his eyes look bright with happiness. "You look damn beautiful in that dress." He says and I beam at him.

He leans down again and drops kisses on my lips

"I" kiss "can't " kiss "resist" kiss "you" kiss.

I push him away and laugh at his silliness. Who would have ever thought the bad tempered Atom can be this silly.

"Get off me you big silly baby, we will be late for first class." I say pushing him away when he comes for another kiss. He takes both my hands in his and captures my lips in a slow sweet kiss. I smile in the kiss and suddenly he is gone. I pout at him and he wriggles his eyebrows at me. "I know you can't resist me little one but we need to get to school" he says with a sly smile.

I glare at him and he lets out a laugh. He walks to the drivers sit and I pout and turn away from him. When he gets into the car he turns me to him and pecks my pouting lips till I laugh and push him away.

"Okay okay! Let's go now." I laugh at his antics. We reach the school and Atom gets out of the car and comes over to the passenger side to open my door. He offers me his hand and helps me out of the car. Everyone is watching and they don't even hide their shock.

Atom and I walk to my locker hand in hand. He doesn't seem to care about the stares or the fact that some people are taking pictures of us.

We reach my locker and Atom cages me between my locker and him. He pecks my lips then kisses me slowly. I melt into him. When we break the kiss he caresses my cheek. "You are so beautiful little one. I wonder what I did to deserve you." He says seriously looking in my eyes.

He take my books and walks me to class. When we reach my class he kisses my cheek just like always and walks away. I enter class and people stare at me like they have been doing for a while now.

I go straight to the back and immediately my mind goes to Atom and his toe curling kisses. Am busy thinking about Atom when a hand shakes me. Jasper is frowning at me while Finn has on his usual blank face.

"We have to talk to you please come with us." Jasper says to me and I look at him like he is crazy.

"Class is about to start whatever you have to say can wait." I say while I arrange my books. The teacher comes in and the twins turn to the board. Immediately after the lesson ends Jasper stands in front of me blocking my way. I frown at him.

"Bella you are in danger. We need to talk to you." Finn says calmly and I narrow my eyes at him. What kind of danger can I possibly be in.

"What danger?" I ask as I fold my hands and look at them not believing a word they breath.

"Atom isn't who you think he is. He is dangerous and-" Jasper starts but Atom's voice cut him out. "Is there a problem here little one ?" He asks while he glares down at the twins. I walk around the twins and go to Atom. I take his hand and pull his attention to me. "No problem at all we were just discussing the lesson. Lets go" I pull him out of the class and he takes my books.

He gives me a kiss on my cheek and walks to his class. I enter my class and before the twins could come to me the teacher enters and starts the lesson.

It feels like forever for the calculus class to end. When the lunch bell goes off. I leave the class immediately and as I head to the cafeteria I bump into Clark . He pushes me away roughly and walks away.

I sigh and continue walking. I get myself a milkshake and a burger. I head to the library. Where I eat my lunch. The twins come over to my sit and the stand near me. I feel a slight wind blow in my face then everything goes white.

When my vision clears I find myself standing in the middle of the woods. I look around and I see Jasper and Finn standing in front of me looking.

"Bella we had to do this. You are in danger." Jasper says all serious.

I look at them like they are aliens. Well at the look of things they might as well be.

"How did I get here?" I ask in a calm voice. Jasper steps closer to me and I step back. I don't want to be anywhere close to them. They have practically kidnaped me.

"We are not human Bella. Neither are you nor Atom. We are from the air kingdom and we can open travel portals because we are royalty." He says and I feel like he is speaking nonsense. I mean yes I have always thought myself to be a freak but hearing someone else say it out loud is too much to process.

"What do you want with me?" I ask them. I suddenly don't feel safe or comfortable being with them in the middle of nowhere.

"Your parents sent us to take you back." Finn says.
