Despite her resistance, her reminders of not loving me, I cared less. All I wanted was to be with my mother at this moment. My hands reached for the door as I took a deep breath before knocking. I awaited a voice or the sound of the door opening, my hands gently cradling each other, my fingers fidgeting.
