The Marine

Chapter 2

Senior year.  The year everyone looks forward to, the year everyone hates, the year everyone just wants to be over with.

After Payton puts the truck in park in the student parking lot she looks at Lucas who is riding shot gun. "why didn't you tell us you were thinking about joining the military?"

Lucas runs his hand through his hair, then turn to the girls "My cousin and i were at a party in 29 Palms.  I started talking with the guy who said the marines changed his life around.  He had crap parents like me, he had minimal grades to graduate and needed something to do after high school.  I don't want to be stuck here running my dad's shop while my friends are out living their lives.  I didn't tell you because you two are the only people who could talk me out of it, you and mom are the only ones who know besides my cousin.  Please keep it that way for now."

Payton nods her head while Brook kisses Lucas on his cheek "You better hook me up with your hot marine friends" and jumps out of the truck.

***** LUNCH TIME ******

Payton, Brook, and Lucas all sit outside eating their lunch.  Lucas is eating a cheese burger while Brook gives him dirty looks for eating like an animal.  Payton is on her phone looking up the surfing tides for the coming weekend.

"BALL" a brown hair jock yells, but it was too late.  The football comes flying at Payton and knocks her phone out of her hands.

"Ouch!!  What the h**l!" Payton says while picking the ball up and throws it back to the quarterback of the football team, Dean.

Deans comes jogging over "I am so sorry, I told Sam not to throw the ball because I wasn't ready.  I hope your phone didn't break".

Payton bends down to grab her phone as Dean checks out her ass and legs.  "mine phone is good.  No damage done.  Thank you for checking.

Dean smirks "I can check on you all day"  Payton blushes while Brook stands up to get Dean's attention.

"I don't mind catching your balls" Brook winks at Dean.

While ignoring Brook, "my parents are going to be in big bear this weekend so I was going to have a small party at our beach house.  It was for the jocks and cheerleaders but I would love if you came" Dean says to Payton.

Lucas puts his arm around Payton while giving Dean the evil eye "we will think about it."  With his arm still around Payton he walks them towards class.

****  Driving home ****

"Payton, you are starting to get a small bruise on your shoulder from the ball at lunch" Brook says.

"Damn it, I didn't even notice.  It was my fault for not paying attention." Payton says while Lucas mumbles under his breath.

"I was hoping to hook up with Dean this summer but it never happened.  However Sam was amazing in bed.  He took his time to fill my need and...." Brooks says before being cut off by Payton.

"Is he one of the guys who you hooked up with over the summer?" Lucas asks.  Brook nods her head with a twinkle in her eye.

"I cant hear you over the music" Payton yells while turning up the radio.  Lady A song is playing and the 3 of them start singing and laughing at each other.
