Kael rode a tricycle up the hill, he went up earlier than everyone else, for he meant to take his letter of resignation to Father Gomez. He’s surely already up and awake, taking his morning walk around the gardens behind the church.
The sun had yet to rise when Kael reached the marble steps of the church’s entrance. He inhaled before walking swiftly across the centre aisle and walking out on the side of the church. There lay a courtyard to which Kael had to follow straight in order to arrive at the garden, and to his surprise, there stood Father Gomez, in his clerical clothing.
