Chapter 18-New plan?

Kylie POV

    I think it's been another  10 days or so, maybe 14 since I've seen Zoey. I'm really worried about her. I don't even know if I will see her again. Last night when someone dropped off my dinner he told me the alpha wanted to try something new. I don't know what that means, but anything pertaining to the alpha i don't like.

    I heard the click of the door signalling someone coming in my cell. Ugh oh. It's not dinner time. In Fact the latest it could be is afternoon. Is this what the guy meant? The alpha would be coming to see me today? Tears already start to pool in my eyes. The door finally opens and in walks.. ZOEY! OMG! She is all bruised and beaten. She walks in my cell with a limp.

    “OMG, I'm so sorry. What happened??” The tears finally fell from my eyes as I asked her. She gave a sad smile and replied. “Some of the pack members wanted to have a little fun. Th-they beat me a-and t-touched me until finally I passed out. I woke up early this morning in the hospital. Which is also the first time I've been to a pack hospital but I'm glad. They treated me well there and released me this morning. They said they couldn't keep me there any longer without getting in trouble. So they discharged me today. I brought you breakfast though. The alpha ordered you to have breakfast. I'm not sure why though, but hey it's another meal. Right?

    We talked about our plan more and decided we will try to leave within the next two days.We wanted to both be in better health but we can't risk either of us getting hurt anymore. So we will hopefully try to leave tomorrow, but first, we need to find out what the ‘new thing’ the alpha wanted to try with me. I need to know his plan before we leave. Because if we take off and he has another plan set in motion I need to know so we can deflect it. Meaning we may have to wait 3 or 4 days before leaving but hopefully that is not the case.

    Zoey is going to snoop around a bit today and see if she can figure out his plan. If she does, we leave tomorrow. She said the alpha has a few big meetings the next few days. They will take up most of each day. His beta will also be with him. Which helps us tons. I

I finished up my food which only consisted of eggs and orange juice and she took the tray and left.

“Something was in that food. It wasn't just wolfsbane this time.” Angel reported in my head. It made my eyes droop a bit and my head spin. But nothing serious. I can still manage.

“Do you know what it is was Angel?”

“No, I can't figure it out. It doesn't smell at all, but it won't harm us. I can sense that much. It may make you a little sick the more he uses it but nothing major. I think he knows we are special and he is experimenting with different herbs and poisons to try and weaken us.” 

Hm. That's not good. Hopefully he doesn't figure out what works really well. That wouldn't be good for our plan..

It's only been a few minutes since Zoey left. So it surprises me to hear the door click again. Only this time, it wasn't zoey.

“Hello princess. He said smugly. NO! I screamed in my head.

“I have a surprise for you” He sang. 

It made my stomach sick. I don't want anything from him! I just want to go! He stalked toward me and grabbed my arm.

“You get to come with me! Then you can see your surprise.” He smiled while holding my arm. I started to scream and thrash around. Yelling at him to stop and get off me. He finally yelled shut up and yanked on my hair. 

    He drug me out of my cell. We went through the double doors that lead to his dungeons. We went down the same boring hallway his guards took me when they brought me to that old cell. We walked through many boring hallways. For a minute it almost looked like he was taking me through living quarters. Finally we made it to some stairs. But they lead..up. Most all pack houses are set up the same. The upper floors are most always for the higher ranks. I sure hope this place is different!

He dragged me up the stairs till we got to the floor he wanted. We went down this massive hallway till he stopped at a brown door. He swung it open and threw me in the room.

“Welcome to our room!” He cheered.

“This is.. Your room?”

“Ugh no. This is our room.” He corrected me.

“Now I suggest you get comfortable. I have meetings the next few days and paperwork to do today to prepare for them. I will have your assigned person uuugh Marie?-ummm Zuri? Uugh, anyway your assigned caretaker to bring you up some clothes. She's about your size anyway, she can bring up some of hers. And you can shower. When dinner rolls around she will bring up your food. Until then she will stand guard at our door. Don't try to escape, I will know if you do.”

This is perfect! If Zoey is my guard then we can easily escape together!

“Oh! One more thing, Zoey will also have a warrior stand guard at our door. Just in case you try anything sneaky. You are smart! So I have to prepare for it.”

Well s**t. That makes things a bit harder, but nothing we can't handle!

“That's the spirit!” Angel cheered.

    He leaves and sometimes later there is a knock on the door. Zoey walks in with a smile and clothes in her hand. She hands them to me and points to where the shower is. I get cleaned up then back out to the room. I take a look around, he has terrible decor. But he has a bookshelf! I walk over a pick up a book. He sure doesn't read them! They are covered in dust! I wipe off the dust and open the book.

    I sit down in a maroon colored chair sitting next to the book shelf. I quickly lose myself in the book. I'm so engrossed in this book that I didn't hear Zoey knock on the door. She brings me my food. So we talk for a few minutes then she goes and stands ‘guard’ again. I eat my food and go over to a couch he has in his room. I put my book on the small coffee table next to the couch and drift off to sleep.
