Chapter 8- The Run

Kylie POV: 

I have officially been running a week. Im not sure what convinced me to run but I know I was scarred. Maybe I can get a fresh start before I go back and find him…

    “Babe you know he will love us.” My wolf said. Oh, ya, lets rewind real fast.

*Time goes back to the moment she decided to run*

I took off into the woods as fast as I could. Immediately I heard a loud powerful howl from my mate that almost made me halt. I wanted to go back and comfort him, but I still wasn't ready. I liked him so much, but, im scarred. He could still hurt me. I want to be stronger before I go back, if i go back. I ran for about two hours in my wold form before I found a river. I still hadn't seen what all I looked like nor had I heard my wolf yet. I slowed down a bit so I could get a drink. I slowly approached the river excited to see my wolf. I made it to where the land meets water and dipped my head down so I could see. 

       As soon as I saw myself I let out a small yip and pranced around a bit. I loved my wolf!  My wolf was a beautiful two toned grey wolf. I had some dark ashy grey patches along with light silver grey patches. They all blended a bit. I had one white front paw and ear, along with one black tipped ear and paw. They were opposite of each other and I liked the look. I turned a bit and saw the tip of my tail was white. What I loved the most were my wolfs eyes. They were a beautiful pair of intense blue eyes. Very memorizing.

    “Hello there.” A voice said in my head. I yipped a bit. Helloooo? I thought.

    “I'm your wolf babe.” The voice said to me. Ohhh, my wolf! Yay!

    “Hiii! Im Kylie!”  My wolf laughed at me.

    “I know who you are hun. My name is Angel. Nice to finally meet you.” Angel said.

    “Omg Angel! I love that! I'm so happy to finally have you!” I said to her.

    “Likewise. Anyway I do have something to tell you, well two things.” Angel said to me, sounding sorta nervous.

    “Okayyy? Good or bad?” I asked suspicious.

    “A bit of both I think. What would you like first.” Angel asked.

    “Okay. Well, start with the bad then. That way there's something to brighten my mood. 

    “Okay, well you were supposed to shift when you were 16. But instead it had to be 18, like on the dot.” 

    “Whaat? Why-how-is that even possible.” I questioned her.

    “Well hun. From the trauma you went through it delayed me from coming forward. The stronger you become the stronger I got.” 

“So I could have had you sooner? Wait! Why at 16. Normal wolves shift at 18, like I did.” I stated so confused.

    “About that, you're not a normal wolf.” She said like it was nothing.

    “What. do. You. mean. Not normal? How am i not normal?” I was alittle worried now.

    “Just close your eyes hun, and when I tell you to, open them. You'll see what I mean.” She said, and I did as I was told and closed my eyes. 

    “Okay, open your eyes.” Angel said and I did as I was told.

I opened my eyes and gasped. Right where I stood my grey wolf was now a snow white wolf?!

    “ANGEL! What is this?!” I asked freaked out.

    “This is our true wolf form. This is what we actually look like.”

    “Why are we white!?” That's what was on my mind. White wolves are rare. Very rare.

    “Well, I'm not totally sure hun. I know it comes from our power, but I'm not exactly sure what the moon goddess has planned with us. I know we are special, but I'm not sure how special. We can change to a grey wolf to keep us safe. People wont question us as much this way”

I went back to admiring my wolf. She was snow white with the same markings as her grey one, just more faded. However her eyes are green like mine.She had this almost shimmer thing going on with purples floating around her..This is weird, Angel really is beautiful though. Her color went back to grey and we kept running from there.

    *Back to present time*

I pranced towards a stream and took a big gulp of water. My wolf then decided she was hungry so we chased after a rabbit. We jumped over sticks, logs, branches, and bushes trying to catch it. Finally we got an inch away and pounced. She tore her giant teeth right through the rabbit. It wasn't even a snack for her but it's all we needed. Suddenly I smelt roges. I got into position for the attack. 

          Next thing I saw around 30 rouges emerging from surrounding trees. I growled in a warning but they didn't back down. Soon enough they began to charge. One came at me and tried to bite my right shoulder. I flipped around and bit its leg, clean off. It howled in pain while I snapped its neck. Right then another wolf tackled me. I was laying on the ground when another 5 all jumped on me. They were doing damage but not much. They scratched and bit me, I was so angry. All the nerves of being attacked by 30 wolves vanished as my anger built. I was furious, I felt weak to be attacked by so many wolves. 

        Suddenly I was standing on all fours again. I let out a furious growl. I looked around me and the wolves that were on top of me were now laying on the ground. The rest of them were frozen, almost bowing. I looked confused before I growled again. They seemed to come out of whatever trance they were in and lifted their heads back up. They all growled out before half of them came and attacked me again. I ran around dodging and defending myself. I attacked all that came to me. 

       One came right into my face and rammed into me. We both went rolling before I finally caught my footing. I grabbed his neck with my strong jaws and pushed my K9's into his matted fur. I bit down harder until I heard a snap and felt him so limp. The wolves around me growled and howled while I growled back at them. I viscously attacked the rouges, biting their shoulder, legs, tailes, heads, whatever I could get. Before killing them. I didn't feel any weaker the longer I attacked. In fact I felt stronger. Maybe the adrenaline coursing through my veins? It felt like I had a strong aurora slowly pushing out of me. 

      I finally had most of the rogues killed. It was down to the last five. I stood nearly 30 feet away from them, and we had a stare down. I finally began to approach them. Slowly putting paw in front of paw. Inch by inch I finally stood a few feet away from them. The rouge in the middle looked slightly off and smelled off. He growled at the other and they took off. He was slightly larger than average wolves. He was pitch black and mud brown fur. It looked matted and dull. He shifted back into his human form, and to my surprise he had clothes on. He stood around 6'2, he was super pale with blonde hair. He could really use a shower! Whew! He had on a black shirt with black slacks. He suddenly laughed, bringing me out of my thoughts. 

        "Like what you see dear" he snickered out. It made me sick. I barked back at him, showing him I wasn't happy. He laughed again and then he smiled. And that's when I saw it.. he had fangs. He's a vampire!! And a wolf? ...he's, hybrid? Wow. He must be pretty strong, his kind isn't common. In fact, I don't know any of his kind. Suddenly he snickered again pulling me from my thoughts. 

     "Yes. You saw right. I'm a vampire and a wolf." I only tilted my head. There was something..familiar about him? He smelled, and looked familiar. But where? How? I swear I don't know him. 

   "Oh dear. You've gotten so big, and strong..and beautiful." I swear I almost threw up. I just stared at him. He knows me? He suddenly laughed again. 

   "You're probably wondering how I know you? Hmm." He laughed. I just yipped at him. Wtf is he playing. 

    "Mmm. Gorgeous, you have gotten soo strong." He said licking his lips. He was making me very uncomfortable. 

    "Well dear, you may remember me from thirteen years ago. I tried to take you then, and I tried again now. You see then you had your mother to protect you. I was going to take her to, but then she protected you. So I killed her. Now you're here on your own, nobody to protect you. Only this time you're stronger. And more powerful. But don't worry, I promise you this. I. Will. Have you."
