Xavier POV
Currently I am upside down. Why, you may ask. Simple. I'm anxious. It's only been a few hours since doctor Aurora took our blood. So I am oh so patiently waiting upside down on this big chair. My brother is on the other side of the room. We are in a lounge room, it's just the two of us here. Though he is sitting upright reading a book in his chair. Why is he reading? He could be sitting here with me, upside down entirely bored out of our minds.
“Why was I paired with you?” Aster said sarcastically, rolling his eyes in my mind.
“Why is he reading a book though?” I whined.
“You are a child. Why wasn't I paired with your brother? He's smart, reading a book. Patient, kind. He would be a good alpha.” I think my wolf hates me.
“I heard that. And no i don't hate you, just stop whining! You are a grown man. And an alpha at that!”
“Jeez ok you don't have to be so mean about it..”
He only laughed at me. I jolted up from my chair. Xander shot me a look.
“Nothing is wrong. I am just bored. Time to find something else to do!”
He didn't respond, he only chuckled before going back to his book. I stood up and ran out of the room. ‘What to do. What to do’ repeated in my head. I literally skipped around the packhouse trying to find something to do. It's a little past midnight so most people were asleep. Others were working. I skipped into the kitchen humming a toon. Looks like someone is already here. An omega is still cleaning the kitchen.
“Why hello alpha, what can I get for ya.” She chuckled.
“I don't need anything. Want some help cleaning up?” I smiled.
She gave a nervous smile before nodding her head saying sure.
I helped her clean up the kitchen as we played soft quiet music. I hummed to the toon. About 20 minutes later we had the kitchen clean.
“Thank you for the help alpha!” The omega chirped.
“No problem, see ya in the morning.”
With that I walked out of the kitchen after grabbing a quick snack.
It's damn near 1am now. I walked back into the lounge area and see Xander still sitting there, reading his book. Just as I was about to say something I received the mind link I was anticipating.
“Results are in. meet me in my office.” -Doctor Aurora.
I snapped my head towards my brother. He looked at me wide eyed. We have been waiting for these results for hours. We bolted out of the room and to the medical wing. We both rushed into her office to see her sitting in her big leather chair, staring at the screen in front of her. The screen that could change our future.
“You don't have to be so dramatic” Aster mumbled in my head, rolling his eyes again.
“These results can change our future though!”
“What am I not good enough for you?”
“Of course you are good enough! Just with this test things might change dramatically for us. If they come back and our blood is normal then I'm fine with that.”
He only huffed before retreating to the back of my mind.
“Alright gentleman, take a seat.” We both quickly sat down.
“Now mind you these blood tests don't give an exact percentage. I have to average the percentages, but I've always been fairly accurate. It's the things in your blood, the way your blood reacts, etc, that tells me what creature you may be. Anyway, now that we got that covered. Who wants their results first?”
Xander chimed in before I even had the chance.
“Me. I don't really care what my percentages are. So it won't upset me if nothing changes.”
The doctor nodded looking at him, “Okay. Xander, you have around 15 maybe 20 percent. I don't believe that is enough to be able to shift into a dragon, gain and power, or talk to your dragon. So I believe it may only slightly heighten your strengths and senses. I could be wrong, but chances are slim.”
‘Well if he doesn't have much dragon to him than I probably won't either, we are related.’
“Ya well you are also first born.”
Aurora looked at me.
“Alpha, I believe you need at least 50 percent to shift into a dragon. But with the moon goddess having warned you, maybe your case is different. Alpha you have 35-45 percent. Your blood was a little trickier than his. I don't know what that will allow you to do. But I believe your senses and strength will be slightly higher than what his dragon side would provide. Still not sure about shifting though.”
I froze. What does this mean? What all did the goddess mean. I know she wanted me to know about the dangers that COULD be, but, is it true? Will I have a dragon? Is it only for protection, since I have to face the evil in the world..
I still didnt move. My wolf was trying to push forward and talk to me, but I was so confused. I finally snapped out of it when I felt a sting on my cheek. I only then realized my wolf took control for a slip second, just to slap me! Asshole. I looked up to see the doctor staring at me and my brother confused but bent over laughing.
“Breath stupid.” I muttered at him.
“Dont slap yourself stupid!” He laughed even harder. Tears rolled from his eyes as he said that.
“That was my wolf!” I tried to defend myself.
“I know! I love your wolf!!” He laughed even harder.
“At least somebody loves me.”
“Really Aster? You know I love you. You're just a pain in my ass half the time.”
“Hey! You need somebody to keep you in check! I mean where would you even be if it weren't for me!”
Uuugh. I thanked the doctor and left the room. On the way to absolutely nowhere I mind linked my mom. She is staying in the packhouse at the moment. Helping me sort things out.
“Hey mom, still up?
“Yes dear. What up?”
“Me and Xander got the blood test results back.”
“Aaaaand?”
“Well Xander has 20 percent max. Or that's what the doctor averaged anyway. And I have around 45% max.”
I heard a loud squeal come from upstairs. Next thing I know my mom is in front of me. She runs up to me at full speed and wraps her arms around me.
“Baby that should be enough to shift!” My mom squealed again.
I froze again. I really might be a true hybrid.
“Better snap out of it before I slap you again.” I quickly realized what aster said and snapped out of it.
I'm a hybrid Alpha..
