Chapter 38- Reunited

Kylie POV

    I've been flying for hours, and I'm beginning to grow tired. I don't know how far Blue Moon is from the Angels choir. But I'm hoping I don't have to go much farther. My wings began to give out as i drop a few feet. Then it happens again. And again, till i can't keep myself in the air any longer.

    My wings wrap around me as I start falling to the ground. I see myself getting close to the ground when a face appears below me. There's Legacy right beneath me, holding onto zoey. I drop onto her and she starts to fall from the weight. But I can't move a muscle to help. We hit the ground. I thought we would have a hard landing but we didn't.

    “Are you okay kylie?!” legacy bursts. I hum in response. Very low on energy.

    “Here, eat this. It will help you.” I trust her as she puts the food to my mouth. All I have to do is chew. After finishing whatever it is she gave me, I felt much better.

    “Thank you.” I told her. She nodded.

I feel tons better, but I still need more. I shift into angel and let her hunt. Once she catches something and eats it, her energy returns to. Now I feel better. And I'm good to go again. I shift back into my human form, and quickly dress. 

    “Alright. I'm good to go again.” i tell them.

    “And where exactly are we going?” oh, right. They don't know.

    “Uhm. Well, we are going to Blue Moon.”

    “What?!”

    “Really?!” both the girls exclaim. 

    “Yep.”

    “Why?” legacy asks.

    “Mate.” i say simply.

    “Can we go now, I need to get there.” The sun is already setting, once it gets dark I won't be able to see. I will probably fly into a tree given my luck. Sh.it. I don't actually know how to get my wings to come out.

    “Yes we can go.” I smile. Legacy flies back up, holding onto Zoey with her arms.

    “Um kylie. Do you know how to get back up here?” nope. Not at all.

Leave it to me. Just run as fast as you can again.

I don't question the voice. I do as it says and start to run, when I feel the stinging in my back I know what's about to happen. A minute later I'm off the ground, soaring through the air once again. I could get use to this.

I smile. I sure hope so.

The sun is down now. But I can feel we are getting close. Angel started to get antsy, and I knew why.  We break through the territory barrier. I smile.

    “We did it angel, we're finally home.” she purrs and yips in excitement.

    We fly a little farther, until I start to see structures. I see a gathering of people and fly just past them. I go to some trees nearby, I don't want to be spotted yet. Putting it out there that I'm a hybrid is dangerous. I know they are already looking for who crossed the barrier, but since we flew in, it will take a while before they find us.

    Can you help me to the ground now? I ask the voice in my head.

I don't hear anything in response but when I start to glide down I'm sure she heard me. We land on the ground softly. When I hear another thud I turn around. Legacy landed safely with zoey.

    “Alright you guys can follow me. I don't know where he is, but nobody here knows you guys. So stay kinda close.” They nod and we walk out from behind the trees. There is nobody around us since everybody else is walking in the other direction. I see the building they are all coming out of, and figure that is my best chance at finding him. After all he is hosting, so he should be there.

    I get close to the building as I see a big gazebo not far from it. A breeze tickles my face, and then the scent hits me. MATE. I run towards the smell, knowing he's at the gazebo. As soon as I get there I'm in awe. He stands in the middle of the platform, nobody in sight. Except for him. Fairy lights draped all around the top. It looks magical. Flowers are wrapped around the railings, with tiny lights strung through. Tears fall from my eyes as I look at him. And he looks dashing in the dark blue suit he's wearing.

    His back is to me, so I can't see his shirt, of his face. I couldn't bring myself to move as i stare at him. I made it. I'm finally here. I'm not scared in this moment, I just wanted to take this in forever. I see his hands drop, my eyes follow his movement. And I noticed a rose in his hands. His head droops and he starts to walk off. My heart races in fear of him leaving.

    Just as he takes a step a gust of wind races to him. He freezes. His head tilts back in the slightest. And I can tell he's smelling the air. Slowly he turns around. His eyes land on me, and he doesn't budge. I smile through the tears and rush towards him. I quickly close the distance and open my arms wide when I get close enough. He gladly accepts my invitation. I wrap my  arms around his neck. I feel his big warm arms wrap around my waist. I smile and inhale his scent.

    “Is it really you?” he mumbles. I giggle in response.

    “It really is.” his arms tighten around me.

    “I'm sorry.” i tell him.

    "Why?" he asks.

    “For a lot. Running off, not coming back. Not being able to find you when I had the chance. and not being strong. i promised myself i would come back when i was stronger. but i failed.”

    “Love your the strongest person I know. You didn't fail. You had things to figure out, and still do.. It's all better now. You're here. Im my arms. Safe. That's all that matters to me.” I smile.

    “Xavier?”

    “Yes mate?”

    “I'm so happy I'm back. With you. But I still need a little time before I can be in a relationship with you.”

    “I understand. Can I hold you a little longer.” i giggle.

    “Yes.” I feel him smile against my neck.

    “Thank you.” he whispers. 

After a few moments he steps back.

    “Can we start with being friends?” I smile.

    “Of course”
