"Goodbye, sky." "Good bye world." Caius murmured from the rooftop of a random building, gazing out at the beautiful city below. "Even though I'm not here, you need to be beautiful as always, okay?" He added with a bitter smile, fully aware that he would soon be leaving this place. He stood up, took one last look at his surroundings, then closed his eyes. Spreading his arms wide, he let the cool air wash over him before letting himself fall from the building. As he descended, his wings suddenly unfurled, catching the wind and lifting him into flight, soaring above the city once more. After soaring through the city, Caius moved on to his second-to-last mission. He now sat in the passenger seat of a truck, his target for the day. Double-checking the leaf in his hand to ensure he was in the right vehicle, he confirmed his task and began "You are a fo*lish man. You steal animals, you b*y and s*ll lives." Caius said, his voice calm but firm. The sound of dogs and other animals crying from the back of the truck filled the air, a grim reminder of the man's deed "You are living a mis*rable life." Caius added, knowing the man was trying to light a c*gar*tte. With a snap of his fingers, Caius rendered the lighter useless. "This is ann*ying. What's wrong with this lighter?" The man grumbled, growing frustrated. He tossed the lighter in front of him, but Caius made it stop mid-air, letting it float before the man’s eyes. "W-what is this?" The man stammered, his face paling in shock. "Is there a ghost? Is there? Ahh!" Distracted by fear, he lost focus on the road. Caius frowned, his patience wearing thin. "I'm an angel, you p*nk." He corrected, making the lighter spin in the air. "You should live a better life." He scolded. "If you live a life, that's ugl*er than your face, you'll be a d*ad meat!" With a flick of his wrist, he sent the lighter flying into the man's face. The impact caused the man to swerve the vehicle left, bringing it to a sudden stop. The force of the halt sent the cages in the back tumbling to the ground, where they mysteriously opened, freeing the animals. "Hey, come here!" The man shouted, scrambling out of the truck to chase the escaping animals, mostly dogs. Caius, meanwhile, checked the truck to see if any animals were left behind. His eyes fell on a dy*ng puppy, lying weakly in its cage. "My client, are you ready?" He asked the puppy with a gentle smile. Kneeling beside it, Caius placed his hand above the small creature. "Please give him peace." He whispered, as a soft light emanated from his hand. He watched as the puppy's soul slowly lifted from its body and floated into the air, a serene sight that brought a smile to Caius face. After that, he stood up, gazed at the sky, and said with a smile. "I should go and receive my final mission now." With a snap of his fingers, he disappeared. In the next moment, he found himself sitting on a park bench. He pulled out the leaf from earlier, which instantly ignited and burned away, signaling that the mission was complete. "Since it's my last day, please assign me to an amazing one." He murmured, his eyes on the bright sky. But his attention was quickly drawn to a dog barking loudly nearby. "Gon, wait." The lady called to her dog, halting abruptly as she sensed a bicycle approaching from behind. Despite her awareness, the bicycle still collided with her, causing her to fall to the ground. "I'm sorry. Are you alright?" She asked calmly not knowing what happened, addressing the boy who had also fallen. "D*rn it. Watch were you're going." The boy snapped irritably as he picked himself up off the ground. "Did you fall?" She asked, before standing up still not looking directly at him. "What? Are you blind?" He exclaimed, realizing she hadn’t noticed his fall. "Gosh, If you're blind, you should have stayed home." "What on earth are you jogging outside? You're just a n*is*nce to others, okay?" He continued, smirking as he m*ck*d her, "You're inconvenience those of us who are normal." "I'm sorry." She said but when the boy get closer to her she immediately step back even though she can't see him. "Who are you?" She said to him firmly. "I saw you jogging a couple of times. Why didn't you come with that old man this time?" The boy said referring to Mr. Charles. Caius, who had been quietly observing from beside a tree, continued to watch the scene unfold with interest. "Some people would call this fate." The boy remarked, reaching out to touch her arm. But before he could, she swiftly grabbed his arm and delivered a sharp k*ck to his stomach. Caius’s mouth fell open in surprise at the woman’s sudden and precise action. "You're about 175 cm tall." She stated, pointing toward the boy’s companion who had been with him on the bicycle. She then turned to the boy who had spoken to her and added, "And you are shorter than him. Are you even 170 cm?" Both the boy and Caius were stunned by her accurate assessment. She took another step back, her posture firm. "If you dare to touch me, you'll get hurt." She warned, gripping her stick as if it were a fencing sw*rd. "No wonder you have a nice look from behind." The boy continued to m*ck, but she silenced him immediately by pointing her stick directly at his face. "I've warned you." She said coldly "Are you going to do fencing with that? You can't even see us." The other boy sneered. "Exactly. What's the point in living as a blind woman? You're life is me*ningl*ss anyway. You should do us a favor." The first boy taunted, grabbing her arm. Caius was ready to intervene when the woman swiftly struck the boy’s arm and stomach with her stick. Sensing another presence approaching from behind, she reacted instantly, delivering a quick k*ck to the face of her would-be attacker. Caius chuckled softly, impressed by her agility. "Be careful. You can get hurt by a blink of an eye. Do you think I saw this coming?" The first boy tried to grab her leg, but she k*cked him away, pressing the stick against his chest. "I'm not blind. I'm visually impaired. Repeat after me." She commanded, her tone steady as she held the stick near his face. "V-Visually impaired." The boy stammered, clearly rattled. She sensed the other boy trying to rise behind her and swiftly k*cked him back down. "Blind is a derogatory term for calling someone who lost their vision due to congenital or acquired reasons." She explained, still holding her stick firmly against the first boy. "Do you understand? You're worth far less than my dog." She continued, sensing another p*nch coming from behind. She quickly ducked, causing the boy to miss and stumble into his friend instead. The two boys quickly scrambled to their feet and ran off, glancing back nervously as they fled. Caius shook his head, watching them disappear into the distance. His gaze then shifted to the woman, who was sitting on the ground, searching for her stick. Once she found it, she stood up and walked out of the park. Caius decided to follow her, and soon they found themselves on a bridge. The woman repeatedly rubbed her eyes, her mind racing with thoughts of what the doctor had told her earlier and the cr*el words of the boys who had m*cked her. "Those dirtb*gs." She muttered to herself, a bitter smile forming on her lips as tears streamed down her face. Caius observed her from a distance, his eyes reflecting a mixture of pity and pain. She gripped the railing of the bridge, staring out at the view she couldn't see, her silent tears continuing to fall. Seeing her in such a vulnerable state, Caius couldn’t hold himself back any longer. Though he knew she couldn’t hear him, he spoke softly, "You have d*ed here once, haven't you?" __________ The Second Page Turns...
