[Nadia’s POV]
I hummed a soft tune as I mashed the boiled potatoes. Initially, I had planned to cook a big meal for Katie and me, but now that she had left, I had to scrap the idea.
Hence, it would be just some cheesy mashed potatoes and meatloaf.
My phone dinged just as I finished the task. I glanced at the screen just in time to see that Katie had texted me, saying that she had reached safely.
I cooked some steak with it. Meatloaf would be great but my bestie didn’t have any.
Switching on the TV, I sat on the sofa with my delicious plate of dinner.
However, before I could even take a bite, my phone rang. I picked it up.
Katie’s voice came from the other end. “Dee…”
She sounded scared. I placed the plate on the table. “What happened?”
“Please help me…” The voice crackled.
