[Nadia’s POV]
Aunt and I sat in the living room. The TV was on but no one was watching.
“Why did you think it was a good idea to ask Derek to marry me?” I asked in a soft murmur as I lay my head on her shoulder.
Derek had left for some work that he had at home. This was another aspect of Derek I was unaware of. I had never met his parents properly. Only at times when Mrs. Mave came to meet Derek at the campus, I saw her. She wasn’t particularly fond of me, and I understood that from the way she gave me an icy smile.
We did some gardening after he left. Before that, I spoke to Katie who had called to know how things were. She even spoke to my Aunt and told her she would visit next time. I terribly missed my other best friend at that moment.
