Chapter 7

510 Words

The day the matching results came in, the entire main house was waiting for the news. I sat on the sofa in the hospital’s VIP room and watched Dr. Harrison walk in with a stack of documents. “Mr. Felipe,” he said, giving my father a slight bow. “The results are back.” Father stood. “Well” “It’s a complete match,” Dr. Harrison said, relief clear in his voice. “An extremely rare perfect match. We can schedule the surgery for two weeks from now.” I noticed Mia sitting up in bed. The moment she heard the news, her eyes turned red. “Vivian…” She reached out to me. “Thank you.” I walked over and took her hand. Her hand was still cold, but this time, I felt a real tremor in it. “You’re going to be okay,” I said softly. Father came to my side and patted my shoulder. “Vivian, well done.”
