The Glooming Vampire

2066 Words
Deacon I returned home to a bloody William and a missing Caius. He must have a f*****g valid reason why he’s not here or I’ll personally rip his throat once I see him. The maids already cleaned the house, it was spotless again, and a brand new chandelier hangs from the ceiling. They changed the carpet to match the drapes, though this place still looks deserted. “Those f*****g wolves, I hate their guts.” He cursed under his breath. I lazily shifted my gaze to his direction. “Fix your face.” I say before heading to my room. I heard him yell to a maid to get fresh towels before the door shut behind me. Her scent is still lingering on the sheets. I told them specifically not to touch anything here. I should have asked them to burn the fabrics away. I can’t stand the thought of not having her around, and her scent doesn’t help with the whole situation. “Fuck.” I muttered when I picked up her dress from the floor. I sat down on top of the bed with her dress in hand, the only thing I have of her right now. I reach up to my temples to massage my head. I have to think of something else to take my mind off of her. “Master.” Katherine walks inside my room with a cup of coffee. Without a word she puts the coffee on the table near the bed. “Call an escort.” Her eyes widened, but she quickly covered her emotion with a smile. “Yes master.” She bows down before leaving. The escort arrived shortly after. I told Katherine to have her wait at the guest room. After taking a long shower I headed there wearing only a towel on my waist. I found her sitting down on the bed wearing a nightgown. “Suck.” I ordered, positioning myself in front of her. She immediately took the towel off my waist and started doing her thing. I don’t want to look at her face, I just want to release my load and get on with my life. After cumming in her mouth, I asked her to turn around. Pulling her hair sideways, I buried my fangs deep down her neck, before she could react, I already injected my venom into her veins. She died seconds after. “Clean that up.” I ordered the guard standing outside the room. He walks inside and drags the girl’s body away. I went back to my room and laid down on the bed. I feel restless. Vampires don’t sleep but I’ll be damned if I have to think about her again. She’s messing with my mind. She’s the only one I could think about, her white hair and those captivating blue eyes. f**k. The morning after, Katherine knocked on my door to tell me my brother’s here. If I hear a story about his trip to Transylvania one more time I swear I’ll kill him, I don’t care about King Lazarus. My sanity is more important than him. “Brother!” He greets with open arms to pull me in for a hug. Before he could get close, I stabbed him in the chest with a knife, a laugh escaped his mouth. “You missed me dearly.” He mocks, pulling the knife out. This son of a b***h regenerates quickly because of his pure blood. The only good thing about being King Lazarus’ son, we heal quickly compared to ordinary vampires. “I heard about your wolf, William told me she’s pretty.” A mischievous smile plastered on his lips, I decided against punching him in the face. “Talk about her again, I’ll stake you and I’ll deliver you to our father myself.” That got another laugh from him. “So you do have feelings for her.” He rested his hand under his chin. Before I could respond, a knock interrupted us. William’s face came to view from the other side of the door. “Elders from the council wants to talk with you.” He motions to the door, behind him. I nod in response. “Let them in.” Serephine and Marcus enters the room, with another newly appointed council member. Serephine is a respected werewolf from a powerful clan. She’s been a council member for millennia, and Marcus is the vampire equal to her position. They ensure both werewolves and vampires get equal judgement in trials. I nod in respect, they did the same before sitting down the chairs. “The werewolf clan is appointing a new King and Queen tomorrow.” Serephine starts. “What’s that got to do with me?” I c****d a brow at her. “When your father was appointed King, a representative from the wolf clan attended. We expect you do the same.” Serephine answered. “Take him.” I shift my gaze to Vladimir beside me. His eyes almost popped out of their sockets as he shifted his gaze from me to Serephine. She smiles at him, slightly shaking her head. “Your father has already told the new King both his sons will be his representatives.” Marcus made sure to emphasize the word ‘both’ in his sentence. “Are you crazy? After what he did to their princess I’m sure they’ll want blood.” Vladimir profusely shakes his head. “I assure you we want nothing of the sort.” Serephine chuckles lightly. “Justice has already been served.” She eerily turns her attention back to me. She’s talking about the wolves murdering my servants, if that’s what she calls justice I should at least have their Princess longer. That week felt like minutes. “If the King has already decided we’re going, why are you here?” “To make sure you know your roles as the representative of the whole vampire clan.” Marcus responds. “It’s a coronation, how difficult could it be?” I c****d a brow at him. Seriously, even a toddler would know how to act in celebrations like those. Be jolly and pretend you’re enjoying their company. “It’s a different occasion. It’s the coronation of the Lycan King. Your scents would throw everyone off the roof.” He answered. “So why should we go there?” Vladimir asks. “Because you’re the vampire delegates. The tradition goes way back hundreds of generations before you.” “If it’s already a tradition why would our presence cause a stir?” He asks again. Serephine shifts her gaze to me still with an eerie smile on her face. “Because they hate your brother’s gut.” She says almost laughing. Vladimir chimes in with the most annoying laugh. I’m surrounded by idiots. “We’d have to mask our scents.” Marcus sternly say giving me and Vladimir a ‘don’t do anything stupid’ look. If he wasn’t my mentor growing up, I would kill him for looking at me like that. “If it’s the King and Queen’s coronation, the Princess will be there, right?” Vladimir suddenly asks. As much as I hate him mentioning Celeste, I also want to know the answer. It’s also a good thing the question didn’t come from me. They were hesitant, Serephine and Marcus looked at each other before turning their gaze back at us. “Yes. It’s also her coronation as the Princess.” Marcus sighs in defeat. “But don’t get any idea, the princess will be busy throughout the night, and you’re not allowed to talk to her until after the ceremony, please don’t bother her highness at all.” Serephine looks at me specifically. I picked the table up and threw it across the room. Vladimir snickers beside me. “What’s so funny?” I turned my attention to him. I released an energy that got him wincing in pain. “Dee stop!” He squeaks. Vladimir drops down the floor, his skin turning purple as he fights desperately for his life. “You’re killing him.” A voice suddenly interrupts me and my brother's get-together. I turn my attention to the owner of the voice. “Caius where the f**k have you been?” I c****d a brow at him. He sits down on the chair unfazed with a long ass sword in hand. Her scent fills up the room, making me stop. Vladimir lays down the floor, staring up at the ceiling like a dead body. “How the f**k did you manage to come here without getting affected by my energy?” Caius’ grip on the sword tightens. “This is the enchanted sword Lyroan used to kill Valhalla.” The sword glistens under the setting sun. I’ve only seen it in books, I didn’t believe it existed. I thought Lyroan killed Valhalla using his brute strength and his conniving nature. Lyroan is the first King of Lycans, the great warrior douche they worship. Valhalla is the girl he fell in love with, but the Moon Goddess Luna hated her because she’s in love with Lyroan. Luna cursed Valhalla to become a vampire, she’s the first person to become a sun fearing monster. Luna commanded Lyroan to kill Valhalla, promising him the powers of a true King. She gave him a sword, created from a chip of the moon and the Goddess’ tears. Obviously he chose power over Valhalla and continued to build the Lyroan Kingdom alongside Luna. Now I’m wondering where Caius got the sword with Celeste’s scent all over it. Don’t tell me he- “Relax.” He suddenly retorts, I turn my attention back to him. “I didn’t do anything to the Princess if that’s what you’re thinking.” I feel my fangs retracting. I didn’t even notice it growing. “She gave this to me because she thinks it’s too heavy and manly.” He chuckles to himself. “You were with her?” I c****d a brow. “I saw her leave with the wolves. I surrendered so they’ll take me with them.” “Smart move.” Vladimir comments. “Thank you.” Caius responds. “You know where she is?” “Their camp is hidden somewhere along the Pine Forest.” Caius shifts the sword from one hand to another, I could feel my body growing hot from anger that she gave the sword to him, and not me. He’s always been better at using a sword but I would cherish that s**t just because it came from her. Caius is a great warrior, and a general. We have fought side by side through hundreds of wars since we were kids. Yes, they do send young vampires to wars to use them as baits. He could kill a werewolf with his eyes closed. Caius uses wit over strength. It’s one of the things I envy about him, apart from the sword in his hand. “You should come with us tomorrow.” I sigh in defeat. If I’m going to the Lycans’ territory I want him by my side. “Yes you can shield us from those savages.” Vladimir added, finally sitting down. He stretches his arm before walking close to Caius. “What would it take for you to give me that sword?” He asks with a cunning smile. Vladimir always get what he wants, it’s a f*****g annoying perk he has being father’s favorite. As much as I hate the idea of Caius having Celeste’s sword, I’d rather he have it than Vlad. “Nothing. I plan on keeping this sword until I die.” He responds without blinking. That’s the first time I’ve seen Caius hold on to something so dearly. He usually gives Vlad everything he asks, a part of it being he’s a prince, and Caius is a mere warrior. “It’s the sword that killed our ancestors. What do you think Father will do if he hears his son bawling over it?” I c****d a brow at him. “Fine.” He backs away. Surprisingly fast, it’s unlike him. “So it’s settled, I look forward to seeing the Princess.” He winks before leaving. I’ll enjoy the moment when I could finally kill Vladimir. I look forward to seeing his lifeless body on the ground.
