Spend The Night

Celeste My head suddenly started hurting from all the social interaction I had to do. Thankfully no one followed me when I left the room, although there are castle guards in each door, I appreciate the peace I finally have. I feel like exploding. I’m happy for Mom and Dad getting the recognition and titles they deserve, but no one has ever asked me what I want. Being a Princess overnight wasn’t on my bucket list. When I reached my room, Ariel was there standing outside my door. He’s a fellow scout I’ve trained with at the camp. We’ve never spoken a word to each other, because he’s popular, Ariel is one of the strongest and smartest I couldn’t just casually talk to. “Princess.” He nods my way, I manage to put on a small smile. After all the smiling from earlier I feel like my mouth is going to fall off. “I’m relieving you of your duty as my door stopper, Ariel.” He looks at me, confused. I sighed, trying one more time. “You can leave, I want a ‘me’ time and that excludes you.” “Scout Leader Trevor specifically told us not to leave our posts, Princess.” He raises both his eyebrows, insinuating that Scout Leader Trevor is going to kill him if he leaves. “I won’t tell, come on. I’m the Princess now, I have more authority than him.” He still doesn’t budge, I rolled my eyes out of frustration. “If you leave, I’ll tell my father, the King, to make you a scout leader.” I made sure to emphasize the word King, it made him perk up. He stood a bit taller, saluting to me with a huge grin on his face. “Have a nice evening, Princess.” I nodded back, giggling. “Tell Chris I leave the party in his capable hands, enjoy the rest of your evening Ariel.” He nods in acknowledgement before leaving. Finally! I closed the door behind me, making sure it’s locked before sitting down on top of my bed. I can’t feel my legs from all the standing, and dancing with heels. After everything that happened all I want is fresh air, and peace. Everyone made sure to make my night busy, I miss the days when they would walk past me and not utter a single word, or bow down in my presence. I have to get used to this Princess thing from now on, it’s making my heart jump for all the wrong reasons. I opened my balcony window to stare up the moon, howls coming from the forest immediately caught my attention. I could feel their exhaustion, I’m more worried about Amoux and Scout Leader Trevor. Mom and Dad sure are making their jobs harder than it already is. I’m sure they’re being a nuisance to Amoux and the hunters. I chuckled to myself thinking. I look forward to hearing their story tomorrow. Before I could go inside, a hand gently grabbed my arm. I looked back and saw his face. I open my mouth a couple of times to say something but nothing comes out. My mind goes haywire whenever I see him. “Deacon.” He pulls me in for a tight hug, I could feel the tears at the side of my eyes pooling. My wolf is jumping up and down in excitement and happiness that she finally saw him again. I knew I smelled his scent earlier. “You didn’t think I’d let my stupid brother come here all by himself did you?” He chuckled darkly. I could feel his power emanating from him. “You mean Vladimir?” I raised a brow at him. He pulls away, looking slightly embarrassed. I realized why. “Are you ashamed that he’s your brother?” I asked in a tone that made him clench his jaw. He looks adorable when he does that, it sends butterflies to my stomach. “Vladimir seems nice, he’s well mannered, though he’s got a bit of an attitude. Also-” Before I could finish my sentence, he pulled me back again for a tight hug. “I think you already know I didn’t come here to talk about my brother.” He planted small kisses on my forehead, I felt like melting from his touch. “Wait.” I pushed him away. “You’re not supposed to be here.” Deacon rested his back on the balcony and shoved a hand inside his pocket. “I’ll leave if you want.” He avoided looking at me. My wolf suddenly became agitated, she started growling. I can’t stop her heart from thumping loud. “Something tells me your wolf doesn’t agree with what you want.” He chuckled but started walking towards the door, before he could open it I slightly pulled his coat. I sighed in defeat. “I’ve never slept in this bed, I would like to have some company before I sleep please.” I said, almost in a whisper. He takes a deep breath before leading me to the bed. Deacon sat down, resting his head on the headboard. He motions to the empty space beside him. My wolf nudges me to cuddle next to him, but my intuition is telling me otherwise. “I can sit on the couch if you want.” He was about to leave again, but I pinned him down. I hate myself, I can’t control my actions. I feel like I want this, so bad. But I know it’s wrong, he shouldn’t be here but I don’t want him to leave either, I shouldn’t have feelings but damn. This guy is throwing all of my senses out the window. “Stop resisting.” He pulled me to his lap like the last time we were in his bed together. My legs are straddling his hard rock waist, with his thing poking directly into my opening. Thankfully my gown had a slit on it that makes me move freely, but the only thing that’s in between me and his thing is my underwear and his pants. This makes the situation a lot more complicated than it already is. If someone sees us like this they would think we were doing something we shouldn’t. “You look beautiful.” His words made me stop thinking, I looked up and saw him staring at me. I could feel my cheeks growing hot. “T-thank you.” I awkwardly scratched my head. My hand touched something cold, I forgot about the tiara resting on my hair. I wish I didn’t look like a fool earlier, I would have moved a bit elegantly knowing that he’s looking. I’m scrutinizing my actions from the event earlier, mentally slapping myself for not being too graceful. “What are you thinking about?” He asks, staring deep into my eyes. “You were at the coronation earlier.” He nodded in response. “And nobody told me.” I chuckled awkwardly. “I don’t think it would’ve made a difference if you knew I was there.” He shrugs. “I didn’t know vampires are allowed in ceremonies like that.” It’s supposed to be a sacred ceremony between werewolves and Lycans. I didn’t think vampires would be invited. “Apparently it’s customary for delegates from each race to be present during coronations.” He explained, I nodded slightly in response. “So I would be invited to your coronation as the future King?” Another shrug. “I doubt if your father will let you go to a place filled with disgusting vampires.” A sour look washes over his face, my heart sank when I caught a glimpse of his emotion. “You’ve met my father?” I raised a brow. “We had a talk this morning.” He scornfully chuckled to himself. “Whatever happened between you two, please keep in mind that he’s not usually like that.” I held his face in my hand, he closed his eyes to feel my warmth against his skin. I could feel him sinking deep into my touch. He takes a deep breath before looking into my eyes again. “Will you sleep here with me?” I suddenly asked out of the blue. That made him chuckle, genuinely this time. “Sure.” He gently pushed me to his side, and spooned me from behind. I turn around to hug him back. I want to hold him in my arms too. “I shouldn’t give in.” I whispered to his chest. “Why not?” His voice sounds mellow, it’s drifting me off to sleep. “Because I’ll keep wanting you, and I can feel my wolf is already obsessed with everything you do. I can’t give in to my wolf’s desires.” That got a husky laugh from him. “I’ll make sure to win your heart too.” I felt him kiss my forehead before I finally dozed off. I woke up alone, in a nightgown. I don’t remember putting on a nightgown. I scanned the room to look for Deacon, but he’s nowhere to be seen. I guess he left this morning. I found my tiara at the top of the table, with a note. Deacon’s scent is radiating off of it, I immediately took it to read what’s inside. ‘I had to drag myself out of the bed this morning to leave before the guards return to their posts. I wanted to stay longer, and you didn’t make leaving easier too. I’ll see you again soon, little wolf. Until then I’ll keep looking at the moon, hoping your captivating blue eyes are looking at it too.’ I could feel myself blushing over his letter, and my heart was thumping so loud I could hear it. I can’t contain my smile, I’m like a teenage girl crushing over the most popular guy at school. I plopped down the bed again, holding his letter close to my chest. I’m never letting this go, I want to keep this forever. I can’t imagine him writing this letter, what is he thinking about wasting such sweet words to someone like me?
