“Avry? Can we stop now? I’m hungry.” Ben complains from the passenger seat. I give him a quick glance and a swift shake of my head. “We’ve only been driving for two hours, Ben, we need to carry on for another twenty miles at least. I’m sorry, but I can’t risk anyone catching us.” Ben frowns at my reply and I reach my arm back to grab my bag from the back seat. “I put some food in there this morning; how about you see what you can find to keep you going?” eagerly, he takes the bag and starts rummaging through the contents. It’s nearly lunchtime so I can’t blame him for wanting food, I just really don’t feel safe stopping yet. We’re exposed right now, almost like we’re in No Man’s Land or something.
