Chapter Two

“I’m not sure what paperwork you’re referring to but I promise you everything said or done is completely confidential. Haven’t you ever used her services before?” Lianna made sure that all new hires signed non-disclosure agreements. She had been in business for a long time and prided herself that she had never been responsible for any scandals.  “I’m aware of her policies and procedures. Yes, I’ve used her services before, for one reason or another. But, I like to make sure I cover my own ass and never trust others to do it for me. What were to happen if you became a disgruntled employee?” He sat down on the chair next to him and took a sip of his whiskey.  “So you’re afraid you’ll hurt my feelings and I’ll sell my story to TMZ, or go viral with all my info on social media? You realize by doing something like that I’m only hurting myself?” Why was this man so damn hard to read. I swear his face was made of stone.  “How would you be hurting yourself? You’d be paid and receive your fifteen minutes of fame. For some, that’s a win-win situation.”  “I’ve already told you I’m not like other girls. I would never blast my private life and ruin my future for fifteen minutes of fame. This type of career is not something you brag about on your yearly Christmas card. When I talk to my mom or even my real friends, I don’t tell them any workplace stories or drama. And, not to bruise your ego but I don’t even know who you are or your last name. So what harm could I really cause you?” I had no clue why I was defending myself to this guy. I should be rejoicing that I’m getting paid the money I am for tonight without having to do more than fetch a few drinks and flash my smile.  Dominic gave me a single nod, threw back the rest of his drink and stood up. “You may not know who I am now but that will change soon.” He walked towards me and placed his hands against the wall on either side of me. He leaned in so that he was eye level with me. “If I didn’t know any better it almost sounds like you're disappointed that we haven’t done more than just kiss. You’re very convincing, you’ll have a good career as an actress. If that’s your end goal.” He moved his face closer and brushed his lips across mine and down my jaw to my neck. “Thank you,” was all I could manage to say. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh as he sucked and nibbled my neck. Hearing my alarm go off brought me back to reality. Dominic lifted his head and looked me in the eye again. “That sound means our time is up.” I looked through the glass and saw Penny and Genevive had their things and were waiting for Danya and me. But Dominic still had me pinned against the wall.  “Until next time, baby girl.” I turned my face back towards him just as he pushed himself off the wall. He opened the door and walked away.  I watched him until he disappeared into the kitchen area. I shook my head and reached down for my purse so I could finally turn off the alarm. As I walked out I looked over and saw Danya coming towards me. “You good?” I asked her. “Yeah, you were right. Aquino is an ok guy. Definitely better than some experiences I’ve had. Plus for an older man, he’s kind of sexy.” She whispered to me. “How about you?” “Um, tonight was interesting. It didn’t go how I expected it to at all.” We made it to the front door where the other girls were waiting.  “I’m already getting texts from Mike asking why none of us understand the meaning of six sharp.” Genevive said with an eye roll.  We walked out of the room and towards the elevator. I was getting really tired so I leaned against the wall. When I looked down towards the hallway I saw Dominic talking with two men. When he saw me he pointed in my direction and the men turned around and looked at me. They then turned back around and continued their conversation.  When we got outside Mike was already out there leaning against the limo with his hands folded. “You all kill me slowly, you know that?” “Oh, I’m sorry Mike. I know how stressful your job is. All that sitting and sleeping must take a lot out of you.” Genevive said while we walked towards him. “If you’re not too tired do you think you can open the door for us?”  Mike shook his head and did as he was asked. “And my mother wants to know why I’m single. I deal with all you crazy women day in and day out. The last thing I need is another woman at home making fun of me or telling me what to do.”  “Aww, Mikey. That’s not why you’re single.” Penny said while placing her hand on his face. Her comment made us all laugh.  “I swear sometimes this job doesn’t pay me enough to put up with this crap.” He said while shutting the door.   We all settled in for the drive back to Lianna’s. My curiosity was starting to get the better of me so I decided to break one of my own rules and ask Genevive a question. “Hey Gen, that guy who was with me, do you know who he is?”  She looked up from her phone and shook her head. “You really don’t have a life do you?”  “Nevermind, forget that I asked.” I folded my arms across my chest and sat back in my seat. “Stop being a b***h, Gen. That guy was Dominic Randazzo. You’ve had to see his picture somewhere. His family owns that ritzy hotel chain, Dominico’s. He also owns and co-owns a bunch of restaurants in New York, Los Angeles and now Vegas.” Penny said. “Oh my god, I’m a moron. How did I not recognize him.” I placed my hand over my face.  “Well, I won’t argue with you there. But honestly, you’re not missing much with that guy. The first time I got paired with him I was really excited. He always looks so charming and charismatic in interviews. The man is a damn robot, cold and emotionless. I was so happy when I saw him walk towards you. Plus, he’s a control freak. Not a dom, but very much needs to call the shots.” Genevive said before putting her air pod back in her ear.  I was relieved when we finally pulled into the gates that led to Lianna’s house. It meant that soon I would be home in my comfy bed and could finally get some sleep. When the car stopped we opened the door and got out, not waiting for Mike. We walked up the steps and Lianna greeted us, which was rare. “Good morning girls. I trust everyone had a fun night?” Lianna smiled at all of us. To look at her you would never know that she ran the most successful escort service in Vegas. Hell, probably even the country. She was in her late fifties and was tall and thin. She had short curly brown hair, blue eyes and freckles all along her nose and cheeks. When she spoke you could still detect a bit of an Irish accent. “I have your envelopes here and you’ll notice that Mr. Aquino was a very generous tipper this time around. I think you all have Danya to thank for that. Quinn, I need a word with you please.” Lianna turned and walked back into the house.  So this is why she was the one to greet us and give us our pay. I followed her into the house and she motioned for me to have a seat on the couch across from her. “What’s going on Lianna?”  “Well, I had a phone call this morning from Mr. Randazzo’s associate. Apparently, Dominic was intrigued by you. He faxed over some documents that you need to look over and sign. This may seem odd but I do have a few clients who require this sort of added protection. He will be back in town in two weeks and he has requested your company. Now, you can take these papers to read them over and take your time to fill them out. But I advise you to sign them now and let me handle the rest. A man like Dominic Randazzo is not used to waiting.”  “That’s his problem, not mine.” I sighed and picked up the papers. “Can I read them real quick?” “Of course.” Lianna sat back and watched me. So much for privacy. I read each page and in all honesty, it was the exact same stuff I signed when Lianna brought me on her team. Pointless, just like I told him they would be. I picked up the pen and signed and initialed each page.  “Thank you, darling. Now go home and enjoy your day off. We’re officially kicking off summer next week and all of us will be extremely busy.”  Driving home I thought about what this summer could do for me. Next year was my final year of college which meant clinical rotations. I would need to balance school, clinic hours and work. This is why I had no time for a personal life. I needed to make as much money as possible this summer since I would need to drastically cut my hours in September. Then once the school year was over I would have a degree and my nursing license. I would quit this job and forget that this part of my life ever existed.
