PETROV HOLDINGS
I kept thinking about the past few weeks. About her, the woman who remained defiantly stubborn, though that was nothing to worry about. It was only a matter of time before she succumbed to my deal.
Andrew held the door open as I got out, I tugged at my suit jacket, smoothing the creases with one hand before buttoning it.
The moment I stepped into the building, the receptionist straightened.
“Good morning, Mr. Petrov.”
I nodded and kept walking.
Claire, who had followed me as soon as she saw me, struggled to keep pace. She handed me my usual cappuccino while holding her tablet and reading my schedule.
“Board meeting at nine. Singapore investors at eleven. Contract review with the merger legal team by 5. The acquisition documents are waiting for your approval.”
I barely listened.
Employees greeted me as I passed, Some stepped aside, others lowered their voice.
We stopped before the elevator, then it slid open and the people that came out of it greeted me as they hurried away, I nodded in response.
The elevator stopped at the fifth floor and we got out.
She held the door as I stepped into my office, then she shut it before her and went to her desk. The cool air greeted me as I neared my chair. Some papers I needed to attend to were laying on my desk. I took off my jacket and got to work immediately before Claire came and announced my first schedule.
The entire morning passed in a blur—The meeting room was filled with voices, but I only heard fragments. A presentation was going on, something about projected growth and investor returns, yet my attention drifted in and out.
One of the board members repeated himself twice before I finally answered, sharper than necessary. The room went quiet after that.
Claire paused for a moment before placing some files in front of me, like she was deciding whether to speak or not.
I signed without looking at most of the documents.
Back at the office, I tried focusing on work.
Except my mind didn't.
She's danger, I thought—but I want that danger.
I shook my head slowly, I shouldn't be thinking about her this way or at all. She wasn't supposed to matter beyond the agreement I had already made in my head and yet, she did.
Ughhh I let out a heavy sigh and leaned back on my chair, trying to escape the thoughts that didn't want to leave.
********
A knock came at my door which I acknowledged.
“Sir, the 5pm schedule will soon….
“Cancel it,” I said coldly, cutting her short. Picking up my jacket and phone and hurried to the door. Outside I ignored greetings from people as I hurried away, totally forgetting anything about etiquette.
When I got to the elevator, it was taking too long to open, and for the first time I considered taking the stairs but then it finally did.
My mind was in chaos. I hurried out through the entrance door, there I saw Andrew who was about holding out the door.
“The keys! now!” I thundered
He gave it to me confusingly and I drove away in a frenzy.
The gatekeeper had called to say that someone was waiting at home. It was her—Leah Vaughn. The rain didn't register as I navigated my car through the traffic and finally I got to my house.
The sight of her soaked and shivering made my jaw tighten. I ran towards her and held her close.
“Are you crazy Leah!!? Damn, you're soaked” I said, my breath unsteady.
“Is the offer still on?” I heard her say
“What?” I said, searching her eyes
“Can I still marry you?” Leah asked
Those words hit me harder, and for a moment, I forgot to breathe.
Without giving her a reply, I signalled the gatekeeper to open the gates which he did, I guided her into my car and drove into the compound.
I switched off the ignition and held her closely as we walked into the house then I proceeded to make coffee and in the process, I stole some glances at her —she was still shivering but sat.
I handed her the coffee before going to get some clothes.
“Here, dry yourself, you also need some clothing, I will get you mine” I gave her my towel and proceeded to get my shirt for her when her words stopped me.
“I don't need the towel nor the cloth, you're yet to give me a reply” She said stubbornly staring at me with those pure eyes of hers.
That stubbornness again
It almost made me smile.
“You're so stubborn Miss Vaughn” I said as I took the towel from the table and dried her damp hair gently. She flinched at first and tried to argue, but she couldn't wriggle free from my grip. I smiled in satisfaction as I dried her long hair, when I was done then I went back to get my clothes. I got her a shirt and shorts, which she changed into before coming back to meet me at the table.
When she sat down, I continued, contract in hand.
“Well, Leah. This is my response to your question.” I said, holding up the contract.
She seemed confused, but then I told her it was the contract and she relaxed.
I pushed it to her.
“Read it” I said quietly
She held it and read every line slowly, carefully then she dropped it on the table.
“I'm done reading, where's the pen?” she said as she looked up meeting my gaze.
“No, you're not, turn the booklet” I said staring deeply at her
Then her eyes widened in shock as she stared at the booklet, then at me, then back to the booklet.
“In
order for this to work, Leah Vaughn will be Shawn Petrov’s s*x SLAVE” She read out, stressing the two words and piercing my eyes with those pretty eyes.
I smirked, raising an eyebrow slightly.
