Cornered in the Ladies’ Room

767 Words
Su Nian’en flung Mu Wen Ying’s wrist away with a sharp, controlled twist. Caught completely off guard, Mu Wen Ying stumbled backward. Her seven-inch heels betrayed her—her ankle twisted hard. “Ah—!” A raw, piercing scream tore from her throat. “Su Nian’en, you b***h!” Mu Wen Ying shrieked, face twisted with rage. “Just wait! You’ll pay for this—just wait!” She tried to rush forward, but the pain shot up her leg. One wrong step now would leave her flat on the floor. Gasping, she pointed at Su Nian’en, trembling with fury. “Don’t move! Stay right there! I’m calling people—let’s see how long you can keep acting tough!” She stormed out of the restroom, heels clicking unevenly. Su Nian’en hadn’t expected such a light shove to end like this—but she didn’t waste a second. No way I’m staying here to wait for her backup. She rushed to the sink, grabbed paper towels, and dried her hands quickly. Women like Mu Wen Ying didn’t need strength to destroy someone—malice alone was enough. Just as she turned to leave— A shadow fell across the doorway. Her breath hitched. A tall, broad-shouldered figure stood there, filling the narrow entrance completely. His suit was immaculate. His presence—overwhelming. Han Xi Cheng. Her heart dropped straight into her stomach. Is he out of his mind?! This wasn’t the Jiang residence. Not his office. This was the Mu family’s ladies’ restroom. And Mu Wen Ying would be back any second—with people. If they saw her alone with Han Xi Cheng here… She didn’t even want to imagine the aftermath. Run. Every instinct screamed at her to run—to get as far away from him as possible. But he didn’t move. Calm. Unhurried. Completely blocking her escape. His dark eyes locked onto hers—deep, cold, unreadable. Then he moved. Fast. His hand shot out like a predator striking, gripping her wrist with terrifying precision. Before she could react, he pulled her toward the sink and turned on the faucet. Cold water blasted over her face. Her lips. Her cheeks. Sharp. Relentless. His fingers pressed against her skin, rubbing hard, almost rough. The sting burned her eyes. Tears welled up uncontrollably. Her heart pounded violently in her chest. “Did he touch you here?” His voice was low—dangerously so. “Answer me.” “…N-no…” She barely managed to choke out the word. At that moment— Heavy footsteps rushed toward the restroom. “The little b***h is in here!” Mu Wen Ying’s shrill voice pierced the air. Su Nian’en’s face drained of color. Her heart leapt into her throat. It’s over. If she ran now, she’d crash straight into them. If she stayed— Her thoughts spiraled. But the man in front of her remained unnervingly calm, eyes dark and sharp, as if the chaos outside didn’t exist at all. “I asked you something,” he said slowly, every word cutting deep. “Did you just ignore me?” His grip tightened. “You let Mu Jian Chen touch you?” His gaze burned. “Su Nian’en—are you trying to get yourself killed?” Did he touch me… or are you waiting for him to? “Why didn’t you answer my call?” he demanded. She wanted to scream. You think I had a choice?! Her eyes darted desperately toward the nearest stall. If she could push him inside—just hide him— But Han Xi Cheng was immovable. Solid. Unyielding. Like a wall. “What are you doing?” he asked calmly. Doing? I’m trying to save both of us. If Mu Wen Ying saw them together, it wouldn’t just ruin her. His reputation—his empire—would be dragged into the mud too. “Han Xi Cheng… please…” Her voice trembled, barely above a whisper. “Stop this…” “You’re scared,” he said softly, dangerously. “But tell me—are you scared of them seeing me…” He leaned closer. “…or scared of them seeing you with me?” Her chest tightened painfully. Her body shook. Either way, being discovered meant disaster. “Han Xi Cheng…” Her voice cracked. “Please… just… go inside. Please.” Outside, footsteps thundered closer. Her pulse raced—not only for herself. Her father was still in prison. One mistake. One scandal. And everything—her life, her father, his power—would shatter beyond repair.
