He Pinned Me to the Door and Claimed Me

Since he wanted to play dumb— Fine. She’d spell it out for him. Su Nian’en took a slow breath and lifted her gaze to Han Xi Cheng, enunciating every word with deliberate clarity. “Han Xi Cheng, do you have any idea how absurd your behavior is right now?” “Absurd?” He arched a brow, clearly savoring the faint, feminine scent clinging to her. His expression was one of genuine curiosity, as if the word itself puzzled him. “How so?” “Isn’t it?” Her fingers curled at her side. “You should remember who you are. You’re my cousin’s boyfriend. My future brother-in-law. And I’m your future sister-in-law. Cornering me like this—getting this close—don’t you think that’s inappropriate? Absurd?” “We’ve already slept together.” His smile deepened, lethal in its charm. “This distance means nothing.” Her temper finally snapped. “Han Xi Cheng, I’m not some pawn you can use!” “Pawn?” For the first time, the amusement vanished completely. The shift was immediate—clean, precise. His gaze sharpened, dark and bottomless, locking onto her with chilling intensity. Su Nian’en bit her lip, then exhaled slowly. No detours. No more circling. “Han Xi Cheng, I have no value to you. If you think you can use me to strike at Mu Jian Chen or Jiang Qing Wan, you’re wrong.” Her voice steadied as she forced the words out. “I’ll be honest with you. I mean nothing to Mu Jian Chen. Even if you killed me, he wouldn’t feel a thing. So please—” Her eyes lifted, tired. Truly tired. “Let me go.” Living under the Jiang family’s roof had already stripped her of dignity. The title of Mu Jian Chen’s ‘fiancée’ kept her walking on thin ice every day. And now—this man. She was exhausted. “Even if you died, Mu Jian Chen wouldn’t feel pain?” Han Xi Cheng’s tone turned skeptical. “He probably doesn’t even remember I exist,” she said quietly. “Our engagement is in name only. There’s nothing between us. Nothing at all.” She waited. Surely now he’d understand. Using her gained him nothing—only trouble. Instead, the temperature in the room plummeted. “You’d better have nothing to do with him.” His voice turned lethal. “Otherwise, you’ll regret it.” Her heart jolted. “And—” Her chin snapped upward. Han Xi Cheng’s fingers closed around it with controlled force, tilting her face up until their noses were nearly touching. His breath brushed her skin as his voice dropped to ice. “Tonight. Old Master Mu’s birthday banquet.” A pause. “If you dare show your face there, I’ll break both your legs.” What…? Her mind blanked. Old Master Mu’s banquet? She wasn’t even invited to Mu Jian Chen’s birthdays. The Mu family despised her. Why would she ever be there? Then why— “Did you hear me clearly?” His grip tightened. His voice pressed against her ear, slow and unmistakable. “You are Han Xi Cheng’s woman.” Her legs nearly gave out. Even after returning to her desk, Su Nian’en remained dazed. She’d always believed he brought her here to use her—against Jiang Qing Wan, against Mu Jian Chen. But now… No. Impossible. Men like Han Xi Cheng didn’t fall for women like her. At most, she was a momentary diversion—something novel, something to toy with before discarding. She wouldn’t be that woman. “Don’t overthink it, Nian’en.” Zeng Shanshan appeared beside her, clearly misunderstanding the tension written all over her face. “President Han looks cold, but he’s actually got a good heart. He’s just strict. Big companies have standards.” Good heart? Su Nian’en forced a smile. “Thank you.” Inside, she laughed bitterly. Her troubles weren’t over. They were just beginning. As she neared the end of her shift, carefully organizing the items on her desk— Her phone rang. Mu Jian Chen. Her heart sank. A sharp, ominous chill crept up her spine.
