Christian
"Goddess, how could this happen to me? How could I be so cursed as to be mated in such a disgusting way. What have I done wrong?"
Christian Corbin paced back and forth in the clearing, walking from one Oak tree to the other. He sniffled as the smell of echinacea hit him, his eyes watering as his allergy to the nature around him affected his senses.
"And here we are," he yelled to no one, "another sign of my undeniable weakness."
Crossing his arms over his chest he began to pout, feeling wrong in every way he could. He thought the Goddess would fix him, he thought he'd be mated to a female. He had hoped, wished so unbelievably hard, that the mating would bring him a female that would make him feel normal. That would allow him to be just another male as any other in the pack.
He had never heard of such a thing happening.
A rustle deep within the brush caught his attention, bringing him to a defensive stance as he sniffed the air. "These f*****g allergies!", he hissed to himself.
Christian was in the center of the clearing cursing at himself when Justin emerged, lifting the drooping White Oak branch so he could duck through. He looked so concerned, his brow furrowed as he found his friend hunched in on himself muttering about allergies.
"Are you okay, Christian? I was getting worried. I waited for you after practice, but the coach said you had left early saying you didn't feel good. Are you sick? Do you need me to go get Persephonie or Alpha Tristan?"
The raw pain in his friend's eyes as Christian looked up made him feel sick to his stomach. "I need you to get the f**k away from me, man. I need you to turn around and never come near me again!" Christian's voice was hoarse with the emotion behind his words.
Justin could only stare, lost for words to say. Christian had been his best friend, they'd known each other their whole lives. He loved him.
"Christian, what are you talking about? I love you, man."
And just like that, Christian's rage was too much to bare. He lunged across the clearing, his blood boiling, his vision gone red. He grabbed his lifelong friend by the throat and lifted him into the air, the veins over the lean muscle of his right arm protruding as he squeezed. Before Justin could even yell out in surprise a c***k could be heard, the feeling of his neck breaking noticeable against Christian's palm.
He didn't let go, he knew he had just killed the 16 year old boy who had been there with him through every hardship, through every up and down in his life. He had killed him, and in his rage he didn't care. Gripping his neck tighter Christian slammed Justin's body into the tree nearest to him. Once, twice, three times; he slammed so hard a small groan of complaint was heard from the tree as it shook from the onslaught.
Finally, looking at what was left of the broken boy in his grasp he screamed. A primal scream that caused the starlings to explode from the trees surrounding the clearing. This scream turned to hysteria as he dropped the remains to the ground, watching the body crumple into the dying grass.
What had he done? What had he done?!
His mind was racing, his body thrumming from the adrenaline. He just wanted it all to end. He just wanted it to go away. Covering his eyes he began to cry, huge body wracking sobs. He could barely breathe.
Slowly he started to realize he could hear something. Maybe someone.
What were they saying?
Where was the sound coming from?
"Christian! Christian are you in there? There's no way you can breath, man."
It was getting closer.
"Christian, is Justin with you? Y'all better not be trying to scare me, I am not in the mood, son!"
Shit! It was Sephi. He had to move, he had to hide..
Looking at the body at his feet a sob escaped, how could have done this? And now he had to leave Justin here, broken.
He had broken him.
He had killed his mate.

Adrian
Adrian watched in curiosity as Persephonie walked the trail that led to the old pack house.
Hearing her begin to call for Christian he moved into a light jog, turning onto the gravel trail he called, "Hey, Sephie, wait up. I owe him a couple birthday wallops. He deserves them for turning 17 first." Adrian chuckled to himself as he caught up to her. "Wonder if he found his mate today, bet that's why he's in here. Took her in for some alone time."
He winked at Persephonie, smiling at her irritation as she rolled her eyes at him.
"You know, Seph, one day your eyes are gonna stuck back there."
Curious at the smirk that tilted her lips he asked, "You gonna talk to me or what?"
"Do you know how to enjoy the silence this place offers, Di? Just be quiet and listen to the birds.", Persephone sure was a pro at sucking the fun of any outting.
"You started yelling first.", he huffed. It was in the silence that followed that he realized there were no birds, there was nothing. The forest was completely quiet.
Persephonie must have noticed it as well, she began yelling for Christian. Her calls getting more frantic.
"I can smell them, Di. Can't you? And something else, what is that? It's getting stronger."
He could smell it, but it was something he had never smelt before. It smelt like pennies, metallic; and somehow it smelt warm. The scent making his stomach growl with a strange hunger. At least they were almost to the clearing.
Goddess, the smell was so strong. It invaded his senses, he just wanted to find it at this point. f**k, Christian and his little tag along, what was that smell?
Persephonie's scream pierced the air, pulling him from his thoughts.
"What is it, Seph?", he asked as she turned to him. Her stare was without it's normal spark, emotionless voids in those two pools of deepest sapphire.
"Justin.", she whispered as her body crumpled , heading so quickly toward the ground that he barely had time to scoop her up into the cradle of his arms.
It was then he saw it. Saw him.
Blood. The smell was blood.
