I sigh and roll my eyes in return. I slowly start to hobble back towards the bus. A new life would probably involve working and being left alone.
is hardly the absolute worst deal ever. The packhouse is currently buzzing with activity. Four new pack members are joining us from TRTC. There is even a warrior recruit in this round. Although her diminutive frame bothers me, all of her training tests have produced outstanding outcomes. I'll have to compare her for myself since the single page in the PDF the centre provided over doesn't offer much insight.

Alpha, you must enter the main hall. My Beta Mason's voice interrupts my train of thought as it passes via the mental link. I close the folder after moving the new pack member files to my desk drawer. "On my way down," I answer. Apart from the speedy healing, mind connecting is perhaps my favourite benefit of being a shifter, though there are several.
I'm leaving my office on the second floor of the packhouse when my pocket vibrates. A message from my parents appears on the screen of my phone when I pull it out of my pocket.
"Good luck with the event tonight. You'll perform superbly! My folks are the best.
I chuckle and put my phone back in my pocket. My mother usually signs her texts in a way that makes me doubt who sent them.
The new pack members will be welcomed and joined to the pack mental link at the ceremony tonight. Since I haven't held the position of Alpha in a while, this will be my first Joining Ceremony. I have been preparing to be Alpha for as long as I can remember. It was given to me by my father, and ever since then, my parents have travelled the world and seen the sights. They stop over from time to time; I know they miss it here, but they ought to enjoy some stress-free alone time. Technically, my mother was still playing Luna because I haven't found a partner.
Being single at age 25 was not very unusual. I've desired to find my soul mate my entire life. I knew I wanted my parents' unwavering love when I was a child because I could feel it radiating. I may be attractive to she-wolves since I'm an Alpha, but I don't want someone who is simply concerned with wealth and power. I won't pretend to be innocent and say I didn't go into some of those she-wolf beds, but when the timing is right, they're just fun. However, I'll make certain that my companion has everything she requires, and I'll treat her like a goddess.
As I open the enormous mahogany door and walk into the main hall, Grayson nods "Alpha." Staff workers are hard at work setting up and embellishing the location in anticipation of tonight's ceremony. "How may I help you, Grayson?" I respond. He keeps looking at the front door, Sophia. I stifle a harsh growl that is growing within of me before gathering myself.
I walk up to the petite brunette and look over her 5'10" frame. She was leaning over my desk last week, and I can't help but remember that. My most recent stress-reliever is Sophia, who works for the pack's accounting department. I reply, "Yes, Sophia," in a forceful voice. She gives a small smile with her beautifully coiffed lips. She runs her palm up my bicep while speaking excitedly, "I was wanting to make an appointment with you after the ceremony to go over some projections for the business." I glance down into her nearly-black espresso-colored, dark brown eyes as I cross my arms. "Not the time or the place, Sophia," I reply. She tenderly bats her long lashes at me while glancing up at me and murmuring, "Sorry, Alpha." She stretches her lower lip, makes a U-turn and makes another exit from the building.
I announced that I was going for a run and would check in with patrols. Ensure that the newest members are accustomed. Grayson gets another yell from me. Yeeessss Allphhhaa, he mockingly cries in a high-pitched voice. He's lucky to be my closest friend.
We're over here, Chelsy, hun," Mr. Ethan lightly taps my shoulder and speaks. I snort and raise my arms as I look around. Outside the bus, there is a sizable building that must be the packhouse. This packhouse is significantly more lovely than the one I grew up in.
This area has an upscale hotel feel to it. three tiers,
ground-up brickwork, stunning oak doors, and
I gaze out the windows and think, Wow.
I take my suitcase and get off the bus after realising that my shin had entirely healed. A statuesque man with blonde hair is standing in the front garden ready to greet us. Based on his huge and strong body, it is safe to presume that he is a rated member. If I decide to stay here, at least the surroundings will be stunning. His lips twist into a smile, revealing his teeth, which contrast against his pale complexion.
Happy New Year from Clear Creek! My name is Beta Mason, and we are really happy to have you here. I'll show you around the common areas, make arrangements for your pack sponsors, and lead you in. I said, "Follow me."Sure, sir. Wherever you go, I'll follow.
The large double wooden doors lead us into a lobby. Wow, this property looks very pleasant and welcoming with its warm tan walls, exposed wood beams, and high vaulted ceilings. The community room has a large stone fireplace, leather chairs, and marble floors.
Beta Mason gives us a tour of the building, pointing off the common area, the game room, the main hall, a number of conference rooms, a huge industrial kitchen, the communal showers, the visitor bunks and the offices. As soon as we enter one of the conference rooms, he resumes talking, and we all gather around the table.
"You all have access to the basement floor of the packhouse whenever you need it. Doors are locked after nine o'clock at night, however the intercom system is regularly monitored. Now that you've made this place your home, all we need you to do is complete a short form for the pack's records, and we'll get you in touch with your sponsors. We'll have time to unwind before tonight's welcome ceremony, you and I both.
