CHAPTER FIVE
No one seemed to be downstairs as Daphne gently pushed the unlocked door open and the girls tip-toed as silently as possible up the stairs and gained the safety of Caroline's bedroom without being challenged. Bruno and Douglas were evidently in their study, resuming their work after Pedro's interruption.
Hurriedly, they showered and changed, slipping into panties, bras and cool, rayon mini dresses. A quick combing-out of their hair, an application of sun-tan lotion (Daphne resisting the urge to caress Caroline as she was dabbing it on the girl's neck and shoulders) and they were ready.
Daphne told Caroline to wait in her room while she went upstairs to the small attic where Bruno and Douglas were working.
