"I need to stop their shenanigans," Alpha Luxian watching the scene with his hands clenched in anger.
"Your actions will be very risky, Alpha." Beta Kian tried to warn his Alpha, Luxian Alderon. They had just arrived, only to see Summer being forcibly pulled away in an aggrieved state by her mother-in-law.
"I know." He said as he kept his eyes on Summer and Luna Jocelyn.
"I beg you, Alpha, don't...." Beta Kian pleaded.
"Please think about what the guests will think if you do this. Since this is strictly forbidden."
"I don't even care anymore," Alpha Luxian said firmly.
"You think I will let them do that to her?"
"But Rhys hasn't rejected her yet, so you can't..."
"Then I will make him," Alpha Luxian emphasized.
This time, Beta Kian could no longer stop his alpha. He was ready with all the risks of claiming another alpha mate who had not been rejected. Luxian secretly followed where Luna Jocelyn dragged her daughter-in-law. Once Luna Jocelyn left, Alpha Luxian snuck into the isolation room. He took out a few guards and made them open Summer's chamber in no time. He stepped in, went over to her, squatted down, and lightly checked her wrist for a pulse.
"Summer..." he hissed, his voice deep and husky.
"I will save you. Hang in there." He lifted her bridal-style and vaguely heard her mumbling, her words barely above the whisper.
"Help me...free me from them..." She whimpered, her frail palms brushing against Luxian's face.
"I will make them all pay," Luxian growled, determination burning in his chest.
He emerged from the isolation room, carrying Summer to the party venue. The moment he entered the hall, a sudden hush fell over the room, and everyone caught their breath in their throats.
"Oh my! Rhys look .." Virginia said, her mouth wide open in shock, as she nudged Rhys' arm.
Rhys immediately froze; his eyes widened, and he could not believe the scene before him.
"Alpha Luxian, what are you doing with my wife?" Rhys rushed towards Luxian, panic evident in his voice.
"Saving her from you," Luxian replied calmly, his grip on Summer tightening protectively.
"Oh, Mom...Mom...didn't you lock her up in the isolation room? Why is she with Alpha Luxian?" Rhys shouted, his anger simmering just below the surface.
"Alpha Luxian, please, you must have misunderstood," he stammered, trying to regain control.
"What did she say to you? Please don't believe her. She is delusional and not in her right mind. Whatever she says..."
"Shut it, Rhys!" Alpha Luxian yelled, fists tight, anger bubbling inside. If he weren't holding Summer, he’d handle Rhys differently.
"Mom... can you back me up with Alpha Luxian?" Rhys called out, looking for help. Everyone was terrified. Not a single person dared to interrupt Alpha Luxian.
He is well known as the strongest and the wealthiest. And all alphas know he's ruthless. He never fails to devastate those who stand in his way. However, because of his nature, an elder cursed him for being so cruel in wipe-out packs that he considered a threat.
"Yeah, sweetie. Oh my, what’s going on, Alpha Luxian? Why are you with my daughter-in-law?" Luna sounded so confused.
"I just need your son to break his bond with Summer now...or I will take her by force," Luxian threatened, his voice steady, but his eyes blazed with intensity.
"She’s my chosen mate and wife, Alpha! You can't do this," Rhys protested, but doubt crept into his voice.
"She’s my fated mate, Rhys. Since you and your mother are making her life hard, I will claim her, so you must leave her by now." Lucian roared.
"Or... I’ll do even worse to get her from you."
"But Alpha, you are cursed. She will only meet the same fate as your previous mate with you, and I won't let that happen to her!" Rhys shot back, trying to hit Luxian where it hurts.
"Listen, Rhys. Reject her now, or I'm pulling all my support from your pack, funds, military, and..... how much do you owe my pack? Don't forget the favors," Luxian pressed, trapping Rhys even more.
"You never love her, Rhys. Just let him have her," Virginia whispered, her tone serious.
"Rhys, please don’t put the pack at risk by going against him, sweetheart...After all, she is barren and is not appropriate to be your future Luna," Luna said.
"Just do it, Rhys," Virginia urged, steadily pushing Rhys even more. Rhys scanned his surroundings, not sure what to do.
"Do it now!! " Alpha Luxian growled. Rhys knew Alpha Luxian was no match for him. If he continued to resist, all that would happen was the destruction of his pack.
Taking a deep breath, Rhys stepped up, eyes landing on unconscious Summer in Luxian’s arms.
Rhys felt humiliated in front of all the guests because this cursed Alpha took his mate by force. But his pack had always depended on Alpha Luxian, and he could do nothing but grant his wish to have her.
"I, Rhys Glomarian, reject and sever all ties between us, Summer."
A faint smile crossed Luxian's lips.
"Great. I'm taking her to my place. Have a good time at your party tonight, and congrats!" He turned away, did not give a damn about the guests' shocked looks. He kept holding Summer tightly as he left.
