“Are you ready?” Ismael asked. I nodded and grabbed my clipboard and pen. I followed behind him to the elevator. “We’re attending a meeting on the third floor, with 6 other people, sit to my left at the end of the table. Take notes that consist of the date, anything to do with money, the location, and their names. We’re trying to figure out where to locate our smaller business and the layout.” I wrote down some little notes on the side of my paper on what to listen for as we arrived on the third floor. I followed Ismael down the hall and into the room. It was just like any other meeting room like the ones you see on tv. I sat left of Ismael at the very end of the table. Others started coming in, and one person held the huge 3D model of a building. I felt the chair in front of me move and as soon as I looked up I saw Atticus. I started to blush as he stared me down, “nice to see you again Adalina.” He smirked at me. “Nice to se-“ “Adalina, focus” Ismael cut me off. I looked at him puzzled the meeting hasn’t even started. Atticus shrugged to me and I shrugged back. I got my pen ready and tried to focus. ~~~~~~~ I followed Ismael out of the meeting and I could sense Atticus following behind me. “Maybe we can talk now that the meeting is over, uh what are you doing later?” Just on time I knew he’d ask me out. “Besides working I’m not doing much, why?” “Could I possibly get your number? Maybe we could go out tonight.” “Yeah sure, here you go.” I wrote my number on a piece of paper and tore it off for him. “Hey!” I exclaimed, Ismael snatched the paper out of my hand before I could hand it to Atticus. “You’ve got to get back to the office and get your notes organized and in a document before your lunch break.” I wanted to roll my eyes, he’s being such a cockblock I wonder if he even lets himself get any from Collete. I sighed and waved bye to Atticus, I felt like a child being bossed around. “No work romance.” Ismael bent down to whisper to me. We stepped in the elevator and as soon as the doors closed and it was just us I let it out. “I’m a grown woman, and this is a massive work place, I know there has been plenty of work romance happening here.” I crossed my arms. “maybe your just lacking some romance in your life” I mumbled under my breath. “What was that?” I shook my head “no say it” I turned slightly away. “Say it Adalina or your fired” I groaned. “I said your lacking romance” I looked at him and he just stared back at me. The elevator doors opened and he was quick to walk out. “Get to work” he yelled before entering his office. I sighed and headed to my desk. ~~~~~~~~~ I headed down to the lobby for my lunch break. I started to look around for Atticus just to see if his lunch break was at the same time as mine. Slowly making my way to the cafe for a club sandwich I looked around all over. Finally making it in line still no Atticus. “Looking for someone?” I rolled my eyes. “No sir.” I mocked. I heard him chuckle behind me which picked up my mood a bit. He was starting to get annoying to be around. “Mind if I join you for lunch?” I turned around to face Ismael. “No I don’t mind, do you want to eat here or upstairs?” “We can eat in my office, it’s got a great view of the city.” I smiled in response, that actually sounds really nice. The fifth floor is very high up it does get a good view of the city perfect for a relaxing lunch. “A club sandwich and a sprite please.” I said to the cashier as I dug for my card in my wallet. “That’ll be $12.52 ma’am” “I got it.” Ismael stepped forward and swiped his card. “Oh I would’ve gotten it myself I was just trying to find my wallet.” He shook his head and ordered his food. We grabbed our food and headed to his office. He unlocked the door as I walked in. “You can sit right here” he grabbed his office chair for me making it face the windows. I thanked him and sat down getting ready to devour my sandwich. He stood next to me as we looked out the window and ate. “So how did you and Collete meet? I was pretty busy getting my other job around that time so I never got the full story.” I asked him. “Well, I went out to a bar with some colleagues after work and I saw Collete there, I had been watching her all night until I finally got tipsy enough to go talk to her, we danced a bit and then I took her to my place and one thing lead to another.” He chuckled a bit and took a sip of his drink. “After that first night when I woke up no longer drunk she looked too beautiful to let her go, took her out on some actual dates and we’ve been dating ever since.” “Oh wow, no wonder she didn’t tell me.” I laughed. Collete talked about her s*x life a bit with me but she always told me to never let a guy get a piece on the first date, she let Ismael have a piece without even knowing him! So of course she didn’t tell me how they met. “I see your talking to Atticus” he comments. “Psssh I try! But you keep butting in” “So your still single?” “Currently yes, maybe for a while since the whole Atticus thing keeps getting put on hold.” I take a bite out of my sandwich. “How long have you been single?” “Two years, it’s been a while.” Ismael inched closer to me, towering over me since I was sitting in the chair. “I bet you really miss a man’s touch” I look up at him as he’s staring down to me. His full lips had me in a trance, the way he was looking at me had the heartbeat between my legs coming back. I swallowed my food as Ismael came to walk in front of the chair. RINGGG RINGGG RINGGG Ismael’s phone snapped me out of my s****l trance as I looked where the ringing was coming from. His phone read Collete’s name. That really snapped me out of my trance. Ismael answered the phone while I gathered all my belongings from his office. I pointed to the door signaling I was leaving. He nodded as I exited his office. I threw away my trash and entered my office. I couldn’t even get to work because my mind was jumbled with emotions and thoughts on what just happened.
