Before I could even compliment her, Molly launched into her analysis, "Speaking of which, your 'adopted sister' is pretty ruthless. She deliberately acted very clingy with you last night to discourage Tyler from pursuing her. Heh, Luke, think carefully, your 'Sophie sister' is using you," Molly said sarcastically. "They were classmates in middle school, how could she not know Tyler's personality? He hasn't cared about your life or death at all, poor guy..." "Enough." I glared at her, my heart sinking... Was Molly telling the truth? Was she just using me? If it was really as she said, with this kind of scheming, I'd be completely ruined by her! Zheng Mengmeng glared at me angrily, clearly dissatisfied with my attitude. "Go back to your studies!" I said irritably. Was this really fate? Thinking about the two paintings I ruined last night… damn it, and knowing Molly wasn't my deskmate anymore, I felt a pang of sadness. No, if I sat behind Sophie, and she was just using me, how awkward would that be! "Hey, deskmate, can you not sit with that boy? I don't want to switch seats!" Molly feigned modesty, but my hand, being rather cheeky, was already on her butt, almost getting caught by the English teacher who came to patrol. After the English teacher went to the other class, Molly finally gave in. "I remember some people saying yesterday it didn't matter where they sat, why are they so unwilling today?" Damn, why did she seem so unangry? She even seemed perfectly composed! But I couldn't care less about that now. "I haven't won you over yet, of course I have to keep going! Besides, besides height, looks, and grades, what can that guy compare to me in?!" Molly laughed, "Besides height, looks, and grades, I don't think there's anything else!" Damn, looks like I'm getting a chance. I had to keep pestering her. "Didn't you say you wouldn't date in high school? If he's your deskmate, I'm afraid you won't be able to control yourself. You hate me so much, wouldn't that help you focus on your studies?" Molly nodded, looking smugly convinced. "Okay, seeing how much you care about me, I'll think about it!" I knew that was about it. If Molly already really disliked me, even if I sang sweet nothings, it wouldn't matter. Having dealt with that, I thought of Little Dot again. Hmm, she's so cute, and I've been exaggerating too much. I should draw her a picture! Molly, who had intended to read, looked puzzled when she saw me take out a pencil to draw again. "Why are you drawing again? Didn't you deliver last night's drawing?" she asked, sounding a little unhappy. Once this came up, I launched into a long explanation of what happened last night. "Hmph, serves you right. You two never had a chance," Molly seemed quite interested in the little one. "That girl yesterday was quite cute." "Heh, it's rare to see you praise a girl," I said, feigning pride. "Didn't I tell you? That's my wife." "Go to hell." Molly pinched me hard, and I could even hear Chase clenching his fist behind me. Sometimes, to outsiders, if a guy is constantly teased by a girl, you might call him a jerk, spineless, or not a man! But consider this: if you were given the opportunity—a beautiful woman, not the particularly promiscuous type—who enjoyed playing around with you all the time, how would you feel? Whether you pretended to be annoyed or secretly enjoyed it, you'd definitely be happy! Seeing your crush fooling around with other guys just makes you jealous! That proves what guys are really like! Anyway, even if I like Sophie, being with a beauty like Molly is still a good choice. "Hey, why don't you come with me to their classroom?" I thought about it. Even if I went with my dorm mates, the guys would still get into fights, especially since I was going to Class 6 of Grade 11, which was on another floor. That meant passing by Class 8 of Grade 11, and what if I ran into Ricky, that blond guy? Being with a girl would be much safer. At least, guys are more mindful of their image in front of pretty girls. "Any benefits?" Molly smiled at me. "I'll treat you to lunch." With my finances, that's about all I can afford to treat her to. "No way, you have to treat all my girlfriends!" Molly insisted, not wanting to let me off so easily. Oh my god, this is killing me! Treating them all? What am I supposed to eat for the rest of the month?! "Forget it, you're so popular. If almost all the girls in the class go, I'll be begging for food." "Okay, I'll let you off this time. Just the three of us from my dorm, is that alright?" Damn, if I didn't agree, I'd seem petty. After discussing it, I focused on drawing. Once I got focused, I drew pretty fast, and I finished before get out of class was over. No, I need to leave a message. What should I leave? Aha! I wrote this line on it: "The drawing you requested has arrived. From now on, just ask for anything you want. Even if it's the stars in the sky or the moon in the water, I'll find a way to get it for you. Someone who's been silently watching you from the corner!" "Look, doesn't it look like something you'd give to someone you like?" I asked Molly. She pouted and replied, "Like a father giving his daughter!" Okay, I admit she's right. I wrote "Lillian" in the corner of the drawing! After the third period ended, I grabbed Molly's hand and pulled her out of the classroom. Molly was yelling "Luke! You jerk, let go of me!" in the classroom, her face contorted with utter grievance. This crazy woman—I knew she was putting on an act for Sophie's benefit; I could tell from the moment she stopped struggling once we were outside!
