"No." Tina said after a moment of silence.
It felt like my heart fell out of my rib cage to the floor and then broken down to pieces. I wanted to pick it up and mend it again.
Still kneeling on one knee, I looked up at the woman I vowed to love for the rest of my life. Tears brimmed my eyes and I tried my best not to blink. I was afraid they would fall. I didn't want her to see me in that state. Weak and vulnerable.
I didn't want to believe her so I asked to confirm."No?"
"No. You don't need to ask me that. We didn't break up. I am still your girlfriend. You are still my boyfriend. All we just need is understanding and forgiveness to be what we were before. I forgive you. And let me ask one thing from you."
