VII. April 17th 1995 – General Domini leaves Alice alone in the observatory paying little attention to the moonlight cascading down the ocean’s depth. All things being equal, Alice didn’t notice it at first either, that is to say she didn’t notice until the light started to leave her. Being left in darkness Alice strains against her bonds to look up through the observatory’s glass. Wishing for the use of her armor she is forced to rely on her natural sight. In the far off distance Alice can tell why the moon disappeared and she looks around the room as much as she can to make sure she is still alone. She struggles against her bonds freeing only two fingers. She contorts her body to reach her boot. With a great deal of effort she manages to pull out Ryland’s dirk. Unable to cut her bond
