Afterword to “Fly Me to the Moon”: Rob: This is another one done on the typewriter. I have little memory of it, but I have the first draft, and the complete set of notes. In full, the “notes” (scrawled on a 3x5 Rainbow Tablet page) read: spring, 85 Last, or one of the last (nuke-elect-prop) airplanes in a world of aircars—lands on abandoned thruway in KS & beguiles viewpoint character, a small boy The first draft credits Bill and me on the typewriter, and under our bylines is a penciled addition: & Alison Tellure. This is the pen name of the writer who then lived across the street from us, and who, much much later, became my wife. This note is in her handwriting. Well, we obviously discussed the story, and since she visited us a lot, no doubt she joined in these discussions. Naturally
